Educated people have always known the earth was a sphere, always. It’s documented in many ancient text.
Just do an internet search “flat earth myth”.

The idea of the earth being flat is a myth perpetuated by those who want to build a rift between science and religion.
No education system should teach that people believed the earth was flat.
