Perisher 2013

I think I’m going to call it now and not bother, high wind limits any park sessions and I’ve spent enough time riding MtP and front and centre valley this year already.  I hope to christ it dumps down and next weekend is a goer with all lifts spinning and back to 80% or more terrain open.

In the meantime I’ll concentrate on getting barreled this weekend and give my new Rok a rest from the Monaro Hwy, I’ve had it 5 weeks and clocked almost 8000kms on it which is kinda ridiculous!

FCUK, I just read the MW forecast again, I’m finding the sentence below very hard to ignore

Saturday 3 August:
Snow showers clear, but return in the evening with another 15 to 25cm accumulating by 9am Sunday.

Yikes!

But hey its what a car is for!

With me going every second weekend I am still yet to hit 10,000 k annually!

So my car could be advertised as Highway driving only when next sold.

Its good for the car at least!

I am not sure what you are concerned about??

That just means no precipitation during the day - the weather boffins aren’t concerned with the temp so nothing clear should fall from the sky.

They are also much more excited by the second system than this one.

Which is as I said earlier… teeing it up for you to have an epic weekend next weekend whilst we are all in Sydney!

I tend to find MW fairly bearish in their predictions.

Yes even more excited about next weekend. Seems I should book all my trips 11 months early so far they seem to have brought some decent falls.

Kim I’m not concerned by that if I was going, I am somewhat concerned by that if i don’t go as it sounds like it could be fun that i don’t want to miss out on!  This is turning into a much harder decision than anticipated.

Haha first world problem. Great surf or decent snow falls.

Oh okay - LOL

DRC bearish or Bullish??

Not sure what bearish means…

and the actual model data or grasshopper?

The models and I am pretty sure grasshopper were under the last system.

Yes DRC it’s a good problem to have my friend!  What are your riding plans for the weekend mate?  Would you go to Bluecow or hang around CV and MtP?

Bearish is referring to stock market terminology, Bull market is an optimistic one or growing, bearish is the opposite so MW errs on the side of caution is what DRC is saying.

Yes bearish as in they tend to underestimate compared to some of the bullish nerds on the other forum.

Great problem to have! I can add to it by having a brand new wetsuit and hopefully surfboard gathering dust. Wish I was out there now but I have to be honest in saying as it builds it will probably get beyond my ability level.

Honestly mate I’m generally happy to ride anywhere except for the parks (though I don’t mind a few runs through leichardt or piper). I generally just try to avoid crowds and look for fresher stuff off to the side. BC and Guthega are my favourite with decent snow but I do enjoy MtP especially off the side of eyre but that definitely needed more snow last time I was there. CV is generally crowded so I avoid.

What are you doing in terms of sleeping arrangements?

To a degree depends on whether you are coming. I’ve got nothing booked so presuming it has to be some form of camping.

Still happy to try to work something out regarding shared driving as well if that helps (If you are worried about the rok I could take mine but we’d have to tent and tube)

Having said that feel no pressure on my behalf. I think I’ve proven I can live/board pretty independantly and I could totally understand picking the surf option.

Okay good we agree.

But MW (ie the model stuff) and Grasshopper are two very different beast IMO.

But can’t wait to see what the models say in the 3pm run!

Dave if i go it will be at about 3ish so I can get there at a reasonable hour, I’m not overly concerned about the Rok just another one of the pros and cons hanging about the decision making process. Jeeebus I’m starting to sound like an indecisive schoolgirl trying on prom dresses.

Will also just be taking the FDome to make it all very quick and easy, will make a decision soon.
