Hotham 2013
Hey guys,
Thought I would kick this early this year. Just paid the balance on our passes for this season and it got me thinking.
If anyone has not booked or made plans for their riding this winter, have a think about Hotham. My home away from home coped a right ass kicking this summer with the bush fires and my mates that have year round businesses are suffering big time in the bank account dept.
So if your plans are loose, give it a thought please. Awesome steeps, natural pipes, tree runs, easy access (SL)back country, you name it Hotham’s got it!!

Any reason to go somewhere new is a good reason and they’re great reasons!
What’s the budget accomm scenario there? How about getting up to perisher from there? I’ve got a reunion trip at perisher for a weekend and was thinking of a week elsewhere before or after.
I hear last season was a goodun there so here’s hoping for a double up.
Plenty of club lodges for budget accom or staying off mountain in either Omeo or Harrietville can save some $$$‘s.
Its pretty much a days drive from Hotham to Jindy, through some spectacular country. Several ways you can go, all of them have something to offer.
I prefer Omeo, Benambra, Corryong, Khancoban, Thredbo, Jindy (sorry if I misspelt any names) Bit of gravel, lots of winding mountain roads.

Azz, what dates is your birthday trip? I need to put it into my diary. Sadly my trips are gonna be limited this year. No pass :(, can afford one, but not if i wanna get back to Whistler.
Gday Azz, thanks for the info. I’m coming from just up the road…sunshine cost haha. I don’t get to the snow a lot in oz much lately after a couple of trips to japan ive kinda been saving for there. Good knows why, never any snow :-D.

Id be probs having to do this by bus or one way hire car if possible

You can fly to Hotham it has an airport!

I am dragging some of my NSW riding buddies down to Hotham for a week long shred sometime during the season. Effing love the place (The General is hella fun, K2, my best mate Ricko, Mate Jimbob and myself tore it a new one one night. K2’s Moonshine may or may not have helped)

By the time it his birthday there will be very little snow - it’s not being celebrated in the snow.
What the?? Spaz it is being celebrated at Hotham… (yes there may or may not be snow but it is being celebrated there, closing weekend actually!)

I think accom has already been secured so hit Azz up if you need a bed.
There is usually some snow to play with at that time of year at Hotham. Even if its just Big D play laps and a jib or two under Swindlers. Can always go hiking
I have that 2013 Hotham day lift pass I suppose I’d better use at some stage.
