Falls Creek, Victoria, has today been announced by MTV Networks Australia as the location for the third annual MTV Snow Jam 2009.
Bringing the event local for the first time ever, Falls Creek will provide the backdrop for the free live music event featuring local and internationally acclaimed acts DJ’s and Phrase.
MTV Snow Jam will take place on Thursday 30 July and will be aired on MTV Australia on Saturday 15 August at 5:00pm (AEST).
Rebecca Batties, General Manager, Music Brands, MTV Networks Australia and New Zealand said; “MTV Snow Jam mashes great music with some unique winter sports in a spectacular location. This year, for the first time, we are bringing Snow Jam home to Australia to showcase the beautiful landscape of Victoria’s Falls Creek. With the help of local acts, DJ’s and Phrase, it will be an unforgettable MTV event.”
“This will be the biggest party Falls Creek has ever seen”, said Michael Callahan, General Manager Falls Creek Ski Lifts. “We’re very excited to be working with MTV to hold such an amazing event”.
Falls Creek has an international reputation for staging world class ‘freeride’ events and tied with MTV’s Snow Jam will create an electric atmosphere. “We’re expecting over 4,000 people to head to Falls Creek to see the Snow Jam concert spectacular”, Callahan continued.
MTV Snow Jam will be held directly in front of the recently opened Quay West Resort & Spa Falls Creek, Australia’s only ski-in, ski-out, 5-star alpine resort and spa.
