Who owns the word?

KT are currently in Federal Court making application to own the word “Thredbo”. A geographical location. The implications are huge for anyone who uses the word. eg; businesses with it as part of their name or facebook pages like “Thredbo Boardriders”

It’s been in the courts for some months now, I only came across this while having a look over at ski.com.au

Crazy! since the word means “high valley, shared meeting place”

Meh, IMO I think that Chamonix is the only place to Schuss Moguls with any Flamboyant Expletive!!!!!
