Nice!!!!!
Turbo?????
Yep!
This is not mine, but pretty close.
Yeah, yours had a bit of rust in the back quarter panel!!!!!
I did a bit of hunting out the back of a Datsun 4WD. The doors came off pretty easy so we could drive along with me out the roof with a spotlight and dad out the door with a rifle. The driver had a rifle holder out his side and we would spend hours shooting rabbits and roo’s until the back was overflowing with carcass.
This was my first quick car circa 1997:
It’s a 79’ RX7 with a 13BT with a big turbo. Probably the ‘loosest’ car I’ve ever owned, no doubt due to the inability of the live rear end to put the power to the ground. Should have killed myself at least three times in that thing. Don’t worry BWers, have grown up since,
My very first car (17yo)
I was respraying it slowly had undercoat on the bonnet and boot (the boys at work gave it weekly inspections! LOL) then some tool run up the back of me and it was written off.
The above car was purchased soon after (18yo). It was also written off but my Dad kept it and drove it for a while. It replaced the Datsun. We had upgrade to a Ford Fairlaine or something. After the Fairlaine my parents upgraded their car every 5 years or so and got a car the was a couple of years old.
I went overseas not long after the above car was written off. I came home and moved to Jindy and drove the car for a couple of months then before winter decided I need a 4WD. My parents and BIL were deadest against it. But I ended up with one of these (no bull bar tho)
I sold it when I went to live overseas again.
When I came home I survived about 6mths without a car but then got…
And well we aaaaalllllll know what happened to that car!
Next
And we all know what happened to that baby
Now I have the Bogan Beast!!!
*none of the cars above are/were mine. But all the right colours!
My first car. My first Rotary. My first Automotive love affair.
In keeping with the game rules, this isn’t actually the one I owned but the closest I could find.
I bought it the first month I started my Mechanic apprenticeship with Mazda.
I rebuilt and mild ported the stock 12a engine.
I rebuilt the gearbox and and put a strong clutch in.
Actually I pretty much rebuilt/restored almost everything over the first 3 years of my apprenticeship.
Restored it back to it’s former glory in every way I could.
I had so many good times in this car with my friends and on rotor cruises.
In 2005 the big hail storm that hit Gosford destroyed my beautiful machine while I was working. To the point where it would cost much more than it’s worth to fix (these things don’t have many removable panels so it would be a million hours of panel beating).
R.I.P you beautiful rotor. I still miss you.
A few rotary fiends on here!
I never thought I would come across a photo of my 350 chevy powered FJ40.
(60thou bore, 500 weber, extreme CAM, extractors)
Then today my sister came over with a few boxes of photos and what do you know!
the car i learnt to drive in… aka the paddock basher

I don’t think I will ever not own a hatch or station wagon ever again!
the car i learnt to drive in… aka the paddock basher
The only thing wrong is the term paddock basher
Looks like a ‘68.
Are you teasing me?
I own a ‘68 squareback, painting it black, put close to $20k into it after getting it for a case of beer! It’s one car I purposely haven’t mentioned in this thread… Yet!
They are increasing in value - up to $15k for good ones.
Come on! you all knew I would talk about it when you saw the pic.
MY68VW is my pride and joy, my second child.
The first car I ever owned was a Ford Cortina Mark 1.
