I am at cracking point with my current camera situation…
As soon as my timing belt gets done a DSLR is the next thing on the list!
I think I have decided though that I would rather spend $$$ on good/great lenses and don’t really need a very fancy fancy pro camera!
DylanV has said he would consider selling me his D90. I need to hear about his kit though I wish there was away to page him to this thread :sigh:
and then i receive a text…
I have a nikon D90 with an 18-(55 or 105, cant remember) DX lense and a 70-300 DX lense, both auto and manual focus. ill have a better look when i get home tonight, if i remember, someone should remind me…
Im still undecided weather to keep it for when i go traveling OS or part with it
I think everyone should start making a Pro/Con list for me
As your mother I say sell it… cause I know you and wanting new toys… its not like you have booked your trip os yet…
You will upgrade anyway.
And I say this as the person who hasn’t decided to purchase it yet…
Although if the lens is 18 -105 and the 70 - 300 I may be very much swayed.
its not like you have booked your trip os yet…
I will have soon!! well as soon as spots and details are released anyways
EDIT: but i doubt ill even take it on that trip
Yeah I was thinking of you living OS. Not just a 2 weeks japan trip.
who said im going to japan?????
KEEP IT!
As far as the history of still camera’s go that is the turning point and last of the entry level DSLR’s.
After the D90 the focus (no pun) turned to include video to generate sales of new models.
Unless you want to shoot professional video (and by that I mean spending time to set up your shots on a pro type shoot with tripod, track and dolly) or upgrade to a pro DSLR worth many thousands more, the D90 is as good as for a entry level still DSLR for shooting stills.
You will only get around $200 for it.
For stills only; my first choice is D40 then D90 (for a cheap camera that can produce professional results).
Buy New Glass!!!
Not a new camera body.
Sorry Oz,
Of course if he does sell it; buy buy buy it!
And replace those stock DX lenses. They do the job but the quality depends what shop they were purchased through (yes stock lenses vary in quality even with the same model numbers).
who said im going to japan?????
No one!
Just an example of a trip vs going for a season!
But if you are going to Japan - it was just a lucky guess ( but I suspect you are going with Ullr crew!)
i dont think there going again next year? but yea japan next year
Buy New Glass!!!
Not a new camera body.
do both
i recently retired my D90 to a backup body. bought it 2nd hand in tokyo for $600 in 2009 had 1200 actuations on it.
Just got myself a FX D600 and then went on the hunt for some 2nd hand glass but in amazing condition
picked up the following models all with manual Aperture rings:
50 f1.4 AFD
20 f2.8 AFD
80-200 f2.8 AFD
really stoked on the quality/clarity of these older model lenses
also got SDV a D5100 with 18-55 and 55-200 for $700 from jb on closeout!
Nice Banger! I want to get a D90 (or D60)
Your a smart cookie.
Why don’t we hear from you much on BW anymore.
Okay as soon as the tax return comes in I think I am pulling the trigger on this…
Anyone know of somewhere cheaper or any comments?
