The whole dishwasher using less water is well known. Though it mostly depends on you not using it until it’s fully loaded. Turning it on after each meal (say your a bachelor) to wash one plate and accessories is a waist. You shouldn’t rinse your plates either! Just empty the trap each load. Rinsing uses the most water. This is where the big water saving is done. If you rinse, then load the dishwasher and turn it on before full- forget it.
