Hey Spaz
Can you use MPEG STREAMCLIP to join clips together as well as clip them?
I had to capture some old footage from mini dv tapes and it splits tape into about 5 files automatically. I want to join them back together…
You sure can.
Just open all the clips at once in mpegstreamclip. They need to be in the order you want them, so I rename the clips 001,002…..005 etc. There is another way but it’s difficult to explain (are you on Mac?).
Then you just hit “Save”, name the new file and select the destination.
Or you can use the “Export” function to convert the file to another format.

thanks

Don’t worry about this. I remember now that I have solved this problem before using freemake video converter.
Was it just that you didn’t have the WMV codec installed on your computer?

I don’t think so, I use WMV all the time in other programs like vegas etc. Probably something simple but I haven’t really used streamclip much so couldn’t say really why it didnt work. Anyway to be honest video freemake converter seems more user friendly and works well for what I need to do.
They are all fairly similar anyway. Whatever works for you is best.
