I thought I should start a topic like this because sometimes companies are not recognized for the outstanding customer service they give you after they already got your business in a sport like snowboarding things break all the time well atleast for me they do and it’s not always because the gear sucks its just cause sometimes its pushed to the breaking point literally . Other times its just one of this freak occurrences. It’s important to know that companies will stand behind their products and help the consumer out best they can.
Another reason for this is because one deciding factor on what board, bindings, boots, gloves, helmets, googles I buy is what kind of customer service the company that makes or sells the product has.. So if anybody has any good or bad stories when it comes to customer service please let me know here’s a few for me.
Backcountry.com they sell damn near everything, don’t actually make the products but they stand behind everything they sell. Their customer service is the one that stands out, when a company says 100% satisfaction guaranteed its a tall order too fill. Backcountry.com is one of those companies they will do anything and everything to make sure you get what you want. Been shopping with them for just over 4 years now not a single complaint yet and I buy a good amount of stuff and break alot of it.
Giro : I wear their helmets for snowboarding been doing so for years and years and they have in my opinion amazing customer service, any issues with any helmet I’ve had they take care of it in minutes, no cost no hassles and they send you the parts out for free and fast. Last week I broke the adjustment part on the inside of the helmet after a tough fall, called Giro they had one sent out same day,got it few days later, when i asked if I could purchase another part to have as a back up just in case they said no need and they threw a extra in for me. Outstanding!
Burton : I’m not a fan of there boards from past expirences but I have owned a few of there bindings and durring the time had some issues with the buckles, called them up they hooked me up with all new buckles in no time, no hassles, nothing, also when by one of there retail locations here in Chicago same kind of customer service genially care about their customers.
Ride bindings : I’m going to give them a 5 out 10 rating reason is I’ve have a couple instances with them, owned a pair of Meastro bindings first time i needed some screw, washers, and a replacement disk they hooked me up had to pay for expedited shipping but that was cause I needed them asap. Another time I had issues with the buckles and ladders needed some replacements they gave me the run around and made me go to a authorized dealer so they can verify that they were under warranty even though I sent them proof of purchase, then when I got there the retailer tried getting I’m contact with them and couldn’t so it was a complete waste of my time. Ended up calling backcountry.com and they took care of the whole thing. They said “you shouldn’t have to deal with stuff like that, that’s what we here for” what more can I ask for.
Bataleon : Got the Evil Twin in the beginning of the season from backcountry.com had some very strange issues with the inserts and cross threading it happen like a few days after I got it so backcountry.com did what they do best and hooked me up had a free shipping label sent new board same day, sent out free 2 day shipping. Then when i got the board I was having similar issues but I didn’t cross thread I got a hold of Bataleon they told me I shouldn’t be having problems like that and they wanted me to send the board to them to take a look at. They assured me a 1.5 week turn around (not bad). After some working the screws in carefully got it to work just fine I told them so far so good and that I would like to take the board out test it out in the snow and see if I have any issues adjusting my bindings on the fly and stuff like that they said ” sounds good, just keep up posted any issues we take care of if”. Good stuff happy to say no issues yet
That’s a few will update soon with more companies
