I think it is bullshit that the 64gig is $1129 here and $399 in the states.

The exchange rate ain’t that different mad    rage

That would be the subsidised/contract pricing i.e verizon, sprint, at&t make money off you per month instead.

Pretty sure the 64gb is $849 outright/contract free in the US.

NO difference.
Apple state that 5s & 5c are world phones. ie: they work everywhere.

So who can we get in the US to purchase and ship a bundle of iPhone 5’s to BoxHead.

So it is drc! Just had to scroll down to spot the unlocked price.

If you go off current exchange rates $US849 = $AU912 so we are still paying $217 more than in the USA

Spaz before you get your knickers in a knot read my post above smile

At current exchange rates it converts to ~$912 then you add GST and the difference isn’t that big!

Edit: haha looks like you you noticed it while I was posting this smile

Having said that (and to keep the flames burning in this thread)

Anyone that is lining up to buy a basic (but admittedly pretty) phone with a very dated OS because it has a upgraded camera and a FINGERPRINT SCANNER!!!!! needs their head looked at!  evil  tongue wink

*I would have loved Apple to release something ground breaking, I’m not brand loyal I would have snapped one up or it would have continued to push the innovation in the phone market. Unfortunately without Jobs, Apple seems to be floundering.

haha yes, haven’t put any knickers on yet this morning.
So no chance of knotting.

I was editing my post while we did the same thing re exchange rate wink

849 + 10% Tax in the USA = $934 + Exchange rate = $1003

So while we pay more, $100 is not worth trying to justify since we make more per hour than your average american and shipping to our neck of the woods can be pretty damn expensive.

That being said, I’ll probably be getting the Nexus 5 in Canada when it’s released.

Possibly my next phone as well.. I’m hoping it ends up being based on the LG G2 and comes with the ~3000mah not the rumored downsized battery. The battery life on my Note 2 is incredible and I’d find it hard to go backwards. All speculation at the moment though, but the announcement isn’t long off.

Yeah, really hoping it’s announced soon so it will be released by the end of October (so I can buy it in Seattle or Vancouver). Getting stuff sent to Sun Peaks will likely be a massive PITA

Yeah the 4.4 Kit Kat announcement has to indicate a new device to launch it on soon.

I’ve given up now but I was hoping it would come out super early so I could claim TRS on it for my Japan trip in a couple of weeks.

If it came out before the 18th October (when I leave) I could claim tax back. But since it will likely be +$50 or more in Aus, I’d probably still be worse off…
