I have been talking to UncleHulka for the last few months about this. They have put in huge amounts of work and I think we should all keep an open mind and try to support a startup Aussie snowboard company. Whether that means keeping an open mind, giving honest feedback, sharing the info on Facebook or just welcoming him to our community, I’d really like to see our members give them a chance and keep it positive.

Honestly jez, I didn’t care for the name of the web series when I first heard it either but I think being a video/series is a bit different to being a product, Sure you can say oi mate was ‘selling’ Australian boarding but it’s still in a different league. But like I said in my original post I’m all for Aussie products and I wish them all the success in the world but my constructive criticism feedback is that the name really isn’t good. To me it sounds too gimmicky and unprofessional and after spending the day at the aus open tennis today, and listening to bogans yell Aussie Aussie Aussie oi oi oi, every 2 minutes, I’m against everything bogany right now. That being said though After watching the web series the name grew on me and what was contained in the vids lent the name being appropriate but I can’t see the name strewth doing the same, unless you get alf Stewart involved in the marketing.
I’ll take this to the discussion thread aswell, I really just wanted to address with my thoughts on your video name comparrison.

Yeah, I agree with what Trent’s sayin!!!!!
An example can be Red Dog the movie!!!!! A very Aussie sayin, with an extremely Aussie film!!!!! It works just as it did with the Oi’Mate Series!!!!!
But then transfer that same principle into Dick Smith’s Ozzy Mite (or whatever it’s called)!!!!!
I personally, will probably never buy Dick’s product based soley on the cheesy name!!!!!
If Holden came out with a “Little Beauty”, would you drive one?????

I agree with Trent. Aussies don’t have a great rap in the snowboarding world and over labeling yourself as an aussie bindings maker won’t get you many customers. If your market is only domestic then whatever.

anyways, aussies, in general, will never get any respect in the snow world, just because of the climate. Would you buy snowboard gear by a company from, say, Kuwait (wherever they have that indoor skiing place, I forget)?
