Happy new year everyone!
Thought id post a topic to hopefully find some answers/ideas.
What are peoples experiences in different jobs through working a season in whistler?
I’ll be heading over there for the 2013 season so thoughts anyone?
Hey Adam,
There are many different jobs available - some working for Whistler Blackcomb, others not.
Working for Whistler Blackcomb has its advantages, i.e. free season pass, staff parties, half price food, discounted retail, and staff housing if you need. These jobs include: instructing, customer relations, ticket sales, retail, food and beverage, lift ops, and others.
Then there are the other jobs around the resort, i.e. serving, bar work, hotels, retail, cleaning, and everything in between.
The best advice I can give you is keep your options open and be well prepared, i.e. get to Whistler early, have all your documents in order (visa, resume etc.), sort out your bank account, get a phone, and go to the job fair before the season starts. Put your best foot forward and you shouldn’t have any problems getting a job you like.
Please let us know if you have any further questions.
