Thanks guys. I have submitted a few counter-notifications, which could possibly land me in trouble if UMG wishes to sue. Hopefully this process will allow me to keep our channel running.
I have back-ups of all the Boardworld videos, but it’s taken three years of hard work and a lot of effort to get our videos positioned where they are. If we lose our account, every video (I think we have about 70) gets permanently deleted off YouTube. Some videos are the highest ranking videos for particular searches and I don’t think we could ever get back to those spots.
For example, search ‘bowlarama’ or ‘ollie stairs’ - we are number one. All these videos will be lost.
I’ve done whatever I can and possibly put myself in deeper trouble by contesting the copyright claim. I guess now I just have to wait and see what happens. I am prepared for the worst.

Was supposed to head down for one last weekend warrior shred a couple of weeks ago, had accom booked everything ready to go. Start of the week I start to feel a bit ill, by the middle of the week I’m admitted to hospital with a fever and a kidney infection. Come the weekend all I can do is sit at home and think of the fun times I’m missing.

Yeah it sucked!! But definitely keen for next season, might sneak overseas this Northern season too if I can find some buddies to tag along

Oh cool, which month are you heading to Hakuba? Jan Feb? I love that place would be good to see my old mate “mumma-san.” She runs one of the hotels, could barely speak a word of English and was so sweet! She loved my apres-snow boots, kept hugging them haha.

I’ll be there with my cousin and I think Lanox and his mate might be around as well. It would be good to have a few people to ride with. Or leave my cousin with someone more her skill level and run off and play in the parks / find some gnarly powder stashes for a day or 2 lol.
And I’m sure there will be a decent amount of alcohol consumed from the bars / pubs as well

hmmm I’m intrigued!! Def keen to tag along. That’s roughly the same time of year I went to Hakuba last year so much fun. Though the crew I was with last year weren’t rly into partying (bunch of nanas) so Im keen to get onto that cheap sake too haha. I might have some mates who will join too, if I can get them to take a week off in Feb! I’ll keep you posted ^_^

Dude that sucks :( hopefully they don’t sue. They might just mute the audio instead.
^^^ I thought that is what they did normally? I had a video up of some football highlights and they just muted it and there was a short blurb under the video explaining that.
I think it might be different if Boardworld is a youtube partner.
