Tripod with camera taking quick shots 3 per second? maybe..
Then jump into photoshop and cut the person out of each and paste them into the original.
Am I right? just guessing lol.
more like 8 per second
Would have thought even faster. There are a crazy amount of frames in there.

Yeah Lads. Camera on Tripod is definitely a must.
I shoot on the Nikon D3s. It can fire out massive 11 frames per second.
Which is perfect for skating flip tricks. Probably a bit hectic here.
But it is always easier to delete a frame. Than try to create one post.
This is basically how I roll:
Open photoshop. FILE > SCRIPTS > LOAD FILES INTO STACK
then select your images, and select ATTEMPT TO AUTOMATICALLY ALIGN SOURCE IMAGES
I start with the top layer. Using magic wand tool I select only the rider. Refine edge make it smooth. Inverse then delete.
Repeat this step on every layer except for the base frame.
And then at the end you should see something like what I have being doing.
Touch it up as necessary then flatten.
This is the way i do. I find it quick and easy. But its one many ways to do it.
Like anything, you just need to find something that works well for you
Cheers

Just by reading that I think you have more experience in photoshop and photography than all the photography teachers at my school.
Yeah K2, Andy Lloyd in the top image and Sam Jenkins in the lower one.
