like ‘em snopics. Maybe a diptych would be in order?
I like the body position of the first one better, but the spray in the 2nd is better

Title: Catch Me If You CanFeedback welcome!
great close up with a bit of selective focus! try shooting in other aspects as well when a subject take your eye, like a few portraits a few diagonally. The only thing you waste is battery. So lash out. I don,t know what you shoot with but you did a good job on this close up, with a smaller f stop and shot in a portrait, you would had nail it 100%
not sure what a smaller f-stop would achieve…
Brandy I think you got a great shot. I would have put the dragon fly on the right third so that we could have an open space where the dragon fly is looking.
Thanks guys.
I’ll keep that in mind Johno. I did get a few shots, but with it being a dragonfly and all I was lucky enough just to catch this one. I think the light worked out pretty well except for the little bit coming through the bushes on the top left. I’ll definitely give it a shot next time round though and see how it plays out.
Gamblor, the space on the left hand side was a whole lot more of the light that you see coming through the bushes in the corner. Good idea though. If I had been able to get rid of that I would have been super pleased with the photo but I think it worked out OK in the end.
I have to say, I think it works well drawing your attention to the (for want of a better word) decals on his tail and showing off the wings.
Clearly this is an entry for the Landscape section of the competition.
It’s a great photo though. Nice shot.
Thanks Box Head

Darren that second shot on your last post rips! haha Nice work!
Unfortunately one of the last photos i’ll get to post this season. If only the season finished as well as it started.
Hopefully get in a few more shots in the NOHE comp in a few months time from Austria.
Anyway, this ones from the Antons Park at Thredbo a couple of weeks ago.

Riderz - Shailer in the sky and Richie getting human barrelled. North Perisher, Late July 2011, By Darren Teasdale @ SnoPics
Sweet shots.. should be on the cover of a magazine somewhere…
Blizzard - noted and done. Cheers! I do remember seeing Polamalu on it, and having absolutely no idea who that is. Or why you’d wear it on snow?
Darren and P-funk - love both your second shots!
Here’s some images taken with my new Lensbaby Composer. I love this little lens and the weird looks it gets when people see me bending it all over the shop.
Gamblor - I’ll put together a sequence of the boys having fun to show you. It gets a little hairy in the last couple of frames when Richie comes real close to taking me out.
K2 Crew, Gamblor, Grahamgee, T-Spec and Bish, cheers for the positive comments.
All images shot at Perisher in August 2011. I was testing out my new Lensbaby. The only work they have had done is a levels check and converted to Jpeg. Any feedback you guys and girls have will be appreciated because I am unsure if the Lensbaby will gain permanent residence in my camera bag.
well, number one, these are guy-in-the-sky shots so I don’t like them. number two, using the tilt shift to blur out that little bit at the bottom doesn’t warrant using a tiltshift. You need a scene with more contrast.
Think about your pipe shots last winter where you want the guy in focus and the crap at the bottom of the pipe out of focus.
Snopics- I have to agree with Gamblor. I’m sure there’s a way to shoot sports with a lensbaby and get some great tilt-shift effects, but I’m not a big fan of these ones for the reasons above. Looks a little like when a non-snow sports graphic designer gets let loose on a marketing catalogue.
No offence meant at all, hope this is constructive and you can improve on it. Looks like it would be fun to use - maybe try getting higher than the rider? Chairlift shots, hanging out of a tree or ladder?
And now, feel free to hang on these - a couple of entries for the edited section. Feedback very welcome!
