Hey guy! First post here.. I’ll probably have to intro myself properly later!
I was at Thredbo on the weekend (Saturday) and it was, like all the times I’ve been to thredbo (2 times previously, I’m still a noob with 4 days total on the snow) awesome!!! Clear sunny skies with no clouds and wasnt too hot or cold! It did get windy but thats to be expected. It was patchy in areas but there was still good cover up top, only stayed at Merrits cos my friend was getting her snow legs back! There was a boarder cross coarse which you could go on and a big air comp was running which was great to watch! Was the last day for me this season but a great day non the less!

Went to Thredbo on sat. It was fun but the snow was crap, so heavy all over. Dont know how much longer it will hold up in this weather. Its meant to be cold halfway thru next week. That snow is going to refreeze and just be impossible to ride. Head to Perisher imo better conditions of the two but not by heaps of course . . .

Welcome swizzy,

redjames, Thredbo has access by lifts to higher terrain and therefore better snow. Didn’t it rain in Perisher?
I don’t think there would be much difference. Of course thredbo has a nightlife and other none snow activities.
What can you do in perisher in crappy weather? I prefer to watch girls get drunk, go swimming, shopping, have a bbq on the grass by the river, ride a skatey in the village, drive over the mountain range, play golf…..... than sit in jax and watch snow melt.

Thems fighting words Spaz…......than again you can get a season pass for 699 at perisher, so in the event that you have to watch snow melt at both resorts, you can do it at half the price!  and to have fun, you have to know where to go! Had plenty of fun the 3 seasons I worked at Smiggs smile. Plus the rumour on the winds is that you might be purchasing one of these season passes for perisher wink

fineprint: I don’t really care for perisher or thredbo one more than the other I just felt like stirring up Spaz!

Now thems a fightin words, CRACKERS!!!!!

I’m with spaz on this one!!!!! The snow is gonna be so similar at the same elevations for both resorts, but ya just can’t beat Thredbo for it’s Village!!!!!

So if ya stayin on snow Thredbo’s the go!!!!!  shaka

hehehe,
If I had the money ($200) I would have already put my money down for P(2012,13) But would prefer to live in Thredbo and ride the tube each day.

I admit the 2 seasons I did at smiggs was fantastic! But that was before experiencing thredbo.

Thredbo just seemed to be a bit more slushy and I would say Perisher is the way to go . . . It did rain and it was horrible. It was my first day ever snowboarding in the rain

I had so much fun riding on Fri and Sat at Thredbo. The sun was out, awesome Spring conditions. The key was getting first lifts up for the Supertrail! Really fun before it gets chopped up. Sunday though was pretty bad as it was raining. Lucky that was my heavily hung over day wink

This morning I managed a few slides, I don’t mind the wet and I enjoy high slopes and saw snow flakes
This vid shows I managed sneak into the crusier from gunbarrel lift down to Merrit for a swiss hot choc
How good when nobody on the cruiser! shaka
