Japan 2011 / 2012
Thought I would start a thread about Japan for this coming Nth Hem winter.
If you are heading there or always wanted to go ask questions here (I am not an expert but hopefully others have been to!). Also let us people know when you are heading over and where.
I will be doing 2 weeks in Niseko 24th Feb - 10th Mar.
I’m getting a decent payout from work so i’ll hopefully be heading there if i can get a crew.

Would love to but I think my next holiday is Hawaii… Might have to be a 2012 / 2013 Japan trip when I can’t afford whistler lol.

Just to let people know Qantas still has sale fare for only $1200 return (for my dates -didn’t look at any others)
is that to Sapporo or Tokyo?

been last 3 years in a row (1 time tourist|2 time boarding)
my bank balance is telling me i cant do it any more

As I like to have a day or two each way in Tokyo.

1200 is pretty normal price in my eyes for Tokyo
1200 to Sapporo via Tokyo is what I consider a deal
however the downfall of that is your going to have to stay at some hotel overnight and waste a day/night regardless due to flight times!
if you weren’t staying in tokyo…flying other asian airlines like Singapore/Cathay/Malaysia Air/Korean air offers better Sapporo flights as they arrive in Sapporo during the day
Ah - but i want to upgrade using frequent flyer points

the transfer at QLD is the worst waste of time ever!

also pay for anything policy sucks balls
I hear you about the overnight stay in Tokyo but I want to see/explore more.
I would love to go to Japan and see more outside of skiing but i can’t justify the expense of going back outside of ski time….

visiting tokyo is fun
been there 3 times and i still haven’t explored it all yet
its the simple things you miss the most but
