I tells ya, Wombat World is Deadly!!!!!
Hahahahhahaaa!!!!!
I swear Friday Flat is the most dangerous area in Thredbo!!
I’m going out for a drink tonight “to test the ankle”, tomorrow I hope to try my boots on and strap-in on the carpet to see how it feels.
Have more than one!!!!!
That’ll see it right!!!!!
Wombat World IS deadly!!! First time I ever went to the snow when I was in year 5, I had a go through wombat world when it use to be under the Friday Flat chairlift. Had a whole heap of jumps in a row. Got way too much air hit the next jump right near the lip and mid air started falling backwards. Absolutely axed myself, back/head on the ground!!!
Thou Shalt Not Adjust Thy Equipment Whilst Snowbording…
I’ve axed myself three times in a row on the flat box in Wombat World, and all in the one day!!!!!!
Wombat World scares me now!!!!!
Thou Shalt Not Adjust Thy Equipment Whilst Snowbording…
Thy word is Gospel…
On the run down to ‘Danger’ Flats and Wombat World, I had stopped and loosened my boots because of foot pain (rested much longer than normal-20min). After going through the HN park and maxing it down Highnoon ST I realised they were still loose and Boa’d ‘em-up before Wombat World.
Every injury I’ve had is when; either my bindings are loose or not tight/too tight or I’ve adjusted my boots while snowboarding (except for my knee dislocation).
stupid flu, stupid 5 days no riding, stupid getting-old
Wombat World claims another…
Hope you recover quickly from the flu and your sore ankle.

Yeah ditto. Sux dude, but sounds like you are on the mend at least.
That suckss, hope you get better soon. Just curious did you twist your ankle after you finish the press?
it was when my board hits the padding.
hahahaha wombat world what a crap place to hurt ya self!!!
I was going into the pads at an angle and I tried to steer the board through using just the tail while I did the press, when I lent on my toe edge the tail flicked out and whipped into the padding, all the energy in the board transferred into my ankle. My foot stayed secure with the board by my boot & binding while my leg and body acted as a lever and separated my ankle from my foot - rolling on the outside of my ankle which squished into the cushion of cartilage and gave the tendons, ligaments and muscle a good stretch.
At the tine I thought I heard (or felt) a crack or clunk, but it might have just been the bones colliding or when everything went back into place.
Just now; I finished doing a waiters shift. All up the ankle is good, it was stiff at first but my limp settled a bit as my ankle warmed up. I didn’t strap it up like I had last night. There is no increase in swelling, it has less of a lump and feels, dare I say, better for the exercise!
I have been doing gentle physio all day, just feeling what movement it has and gently teaching the muscle to work again - whatever damage I did the nerves to some muscle has switched off (it may just be the fluid in their that prevents the nerve from working) I gingerly lean onto my foot until the muscle is about to about to tweak trying not to reach the point where I flinch. Gradually, the more I stimulate the area and reduce the fluid it is all beginning to work again. It’s almost at full flexibility without any pain.
BAHAHA you did that at Friday Flat?!?! haha your a funny guy
