Although they look dicky, and are not as comfy as a beanie, perhaps this is the very reason to don a helmet!!!!

Not cool RIP ....... I used to be one of those kids that rocketed along on anything without a helmet… then i got one and didnt strap it up and now as a 25 year old i give no &^% for what they look like or people say but your better of having a helmet then not having one even if it does little to protect your head it may be the difference in surviving

Agreed, I’ve been wearing a helmet since I first got concussed on a board and haven’t ridden without it since. Also I really don’t think they are uncool any way. These days there are more people riding with helmets than with out and I haven’t had one person rip on me for wearing a helmet.

The only thing that people care about is your riding, so protect yourselves people smile

Don’t get me wrong Andy, I was just makin an observation from pretty much every mainstream snowboardin flick that the majority of youngsters see these days!!!!

Unless they are in the pipe or bombin major mountains, ya pretty much guaranteed to see really good riders wearin only a beanie!!!! Even when ya go to that link ya see a pic of Aaron without a helmet!!!!

The moto industry have portrayed helmets as “cool”, yet for some reason the snowboardin fraternity is somewhat behind with this program????

Kids are more likely to wear a helmet if they see their idol wearin one!!!! Even if it saves only one young life, then the change in attitude will be well worth it!!!!!

hence why i just got my helmet.

sh!t like this makes you stand back and realise what a dangerous sport it is. i have had one mate come within an inch of dieing (shattered skull/smashed vertebrae/wont walk again and only 18) im not about to risk that just cause i wont look “cool”

RIP.
The report says that they were kind of back country and that the snow pack was thin. So ended up hitting rocks.
I remember 1 year at thredbo I had a stack and when I moved I uncovered some rocks. I was so happy to be wearing a helmet.
Kevin Pearce was lucky to survive, due to wearing a helmet.

TRIBUTE VIDEOS

My first time at Baker was also my first time meeting and filming with A Rob. Aaron was what I like to refer as an A+ rider, not only because of his skills on the board, but also because he always new what he wanted to ride. I never once had to point out something for Aaron to ride which let me focus on my job of capturing it the best I could. Let me tell you this is a very rare thing. I attribute this to Aarons easy going mentality, all around good heartedness, and the fact that AARON LIVED AND BREATHED SNOWBOARDING TO THE FULLEST. A Rob was one of the most down ass dudes I have ever met. I dont think I had ever heard A Rob complain about anything. Its getting the chance to meet and ride with guys like Aaron that keeps me doing what Im doing. Aaron may be gone from this world, but to his friends and family his memory will last forever.

This is the Mt. Baker segment I filmed and edited from the movie Respect Your Elders. Featuring the riding of Aaron Robinson (Purple Jacket) and Temple Cummins (Tan Jacket). With appearances by Jessie Grandkoski, Ben Lynch, and Matt Cummins. Original music by Chris Emmington, Brandon Cocard, and Tim Eddy.

RIP AROB! I RIDE FOR YOU HOMIE!

On July 19 the snowboarding world lost a great man when Aaron Robinson passed away in Chile. This rocked the snowboarding community the hardest in Government Camp, OR where Aaron’s brother Jason and friends were devastated by the news. On July 22 both Windells and HCSC banded together at the top of Palmer Snowfield at Timberline and celebrated Aaron’s life with a heartfelt speech by Brandon Cocard followed by what many say was the biggest group of snowboarders (100+) to ever do a top to bottom run down Palmer at the same time in his remembrance. It was an amazing moment to celebrate an amazing person. RIP Aaron Robinson.
