FLUX to rule supreme!!!!!
hey guys we are tryin to get some bindings for my missus online, her boot is a ride sierra ebony size 9 what size bindings do u think we should go for ladies large and or men meduim?
Going to your local shop and getting the right advice and being able to check the binding to boot fit is key. That’s why shops are there.
Yeah I did that for all my gear, and I know all you guys are about supporting local industry but when I find bindings which I paid 290 in a Sydney store on sale on eBay for under 150 it makes me diSheartend to support local stores

I totally understand that, especially with the way aome people treat the industry. Thing is though look at our wages/lifestyle verus overseas and then see how good we have it with some extra coin that supports it.

Yeah been doing some thinking over the weekend, and i have come to this conclusion, even though you may save 50 to 100 bones on ebay you do not get the same customer service as you do in the stores, if there is any problems with your ebay purchase trying to get warranty refund or exchange can be an absolute nightmare, i have opted for the smartest option and to visist the local shop at least this way she can try the binding on with the boot, and then it keeps another aussie employed, specially with this slow economy we are facing these days.
Agreed. If you can pickup something for a fraction of the cost (I got a board for a friend for 280 inc shipping for a >700 board in australia) it is worth the risk. If you are saving $20 on a pair of gloves or bindings or whatnot, support the Aussie store.
While it is great to support our businesses, sometimes you have to think about your bank balance as well . That being said, >1/2 the stuff I have purchased is from Aussie stores.
Thing is too with boards, there is so much behind the scenes as well that bump up the cost.
Duties, transport cost as well as now they are making product get fumigated. All this adds to the cost of a board landing in Australia. Working in a shop and seeing the struggle that comes with product landing in OZ makes you have a whole different view. Some brands have done as much as possible to dropped the prices on product. I have seen an average price drop of $50-$200 on some products, which gets me super stoked.
Keepin another Aussie employed as Sukah mentioned is key in the whole argument!!!!!
Hell, I even refuse to go thru the self service checkouts at Woolies!!!!! They’re only gettin rid of jobs, and that’s not good for our economy and in return not good for our own prospects!!!!!
Burton Cartels are always a safe choice. Mine lasted me AGES!
But don’t be scared about Tech9, I’m riding tech9 team bindings now and they are the best I’ve had.
They can come with or without scrub hooks (burton calls them something else) which are the high backs that curve around your boots making presses/butters a bit more stable and kinda good to drive through those heel edge carves. Burton Malavitas & cobra sharks have scrub hooks too but I chose Tech9s cause the burton high backs are really soft which means the hooks don’t work as well when u press into them. The only thing I don’t like about my Tech9s is that they are a bit heavy. Burtons are wicked light. Both are a good choice in my opinion.
Really? Every T9 binding I have seen have been pure crap… Cheap ratchets, flimsy materials and just overall not a good binding.
I would go Union / Rome / Burton as my main picks and then if there was none I liked, there would still be like 10 companies before T9.
I have even owned a T9 pair and every other pair I have seen is the same shit. lol
Hmmm… interesting. Maybe I just lucked out and got a good pair lol. After a season of hard riding, mine are still in good shape. I have heard people complain about T9 but it’s only been that straps have come loose and fallen off. My buddy at the store told me to check every screw when I first put them on (which is common sense any way) and since then they have been fine. I really like them. Plus I’m noticing every rider here in the camp of champions is on either T9 or Unions (but that could just be a park rat trend)
I have seen old technines that just look like really bad rental bindings but I’m really liking my new ones.

I agree mate! I have been rocking Flux Super Titans (2010 model) and they rock. A bit heavier than my old Union bindings, but they are bobmproof!!
