BINDINGS

Yeah was not sure because they are New Zealand

They also operate out of Australia I believe.

I use the x actions socks. To be honest I don’t think that the socks are a marketing gimmick. If you have the right stuff it does work.

I don’t have any issues with the x action socks as I sweat a lot and they are the best things for getting rid of the moisture. Some people are lucky enough not be heavy sweaters so they can get away with other socks.

Footbeds are such a blessing though.

The best thing about the (over priced - NOT) socks is they wick moisture away from your feet. You really need to try them, I wore work socks, ankle socks, business socks, ballet tights (yes I did - and they weren’t bad), heavy woollen socks etc etc…. But once I rode in $60 socks I’ll only wear cheap cotten ski socks in the most dier circumstance. In the long run they will also save your boots from being stinky and damp the next day. They wick moisture so well I can get away without washing them (and wear them every day) for a week - the trick is to cook the bacteria out each night (on an oil heater is good as wool is fire proof)

Of course if your only going to snowboard a few days a year the price can be hard to justify but if like me you board almost everyday of the season they are a blessing for more than just comfort. I rarely need to put my boots in a drying room at night which prevents them becoming weak and losing their shape/fit.

Just take note of the

most important

survival technique the military employ - KEEP YOUR FEET DRY. It’s as important as dodging bullets!!!!

Cotton holds moisture, synthetics don’t breath.

I am a sweaty person and some of the best money I spent was on a $200 X-Skin top. < off topic but same wicking tech as the socks.

hey guys we are tryin to get some bindings for my missus online, her boot is a ride sierra ebony size 9 what size bindings do u think we should go for ladies large and or men meduim?

Really depends on the boot and the binding. Thats where shopping at your local is better, because you can try them on.

Mens medium I guess would be wider than the ladies large.

isn’t merino wool more affordable in Oz?
Smartwool socks are my favourite socks to ride in. My wife was given a pair of icebreaker socks but she hasn’t tried them yet.

I think merino wool is expensive everywhere. Most of it comes from New Zealand though, maybe it’s a bit cheaper there?

Burton Cartels are always a safe choice. Mine lasted me AGES!

But don’t be scared about Tech9, I’m riding tech9 team bindings now and they are the best I’ve had.
They can come with or without scrub hooks (burton calls them something else) which are the high backs that curve around your boots making presses/butters a bit more stable and kinda good to drive through those heel edge carves. Burton Malavitas & cobra sharks have scrub hooks too but I chose Tech9s cause the burton high backs are really soft which means the hooks don’t work as well when u press into them.

The only thing I don’t like about my Tech9s is that they are a bit heavy. Burtons are wicked light. Both are a good choice in my opinion.

Rome Targas are also good. I’m using 2010 Targas now, lots of tool less adjustments and stiffness of the ankle strap can also be adjusted.

Going to your local shop and getting the right advice and being able to check the binding to boot fit is key. That’s why shops are there.

Really? Every T9 binding I have seen have been pure crap… Cheap ratchets, flimsy materials and just overall not a good binding.

I would go Union / Rome / Burton as my main picks and then if there was none I liked, there would still be like 10 companies before T9.

I have even owned a T9 pair and every other pair I have seen is the same shit. lol
