K2, think you hit the nail on the head! Good work… Love the peninsula
so just to clarify, can I ask if you had to pick a town that is within 20-30mins drive of Mornington, was on the water somewhere, pretty, relatively quiet all year round, not full of deros and was close to decent surf breaks, what would your options be?
Sorry for hassling you but just trying to get a picture of our options!
At the moment its at least 5 1/2hrs to any kind of hill so day trips jibbing at baw-baw sounds pretty good right now!
From what you’ve said on bw and your vids, i think you guys would love baw baw.
I like McCae and Dromana as its a bit away from the holiday towns. I actually love mornington itself, but sounds like you want something bit quieter and beach shack vibe to it.
Im not sure on the back coast of the peninsula so I cant really comment on the towns there. Gunnamatta would be the closest break to that whole area. It gets pretty rough out there. Most the spots I know are rougher, and sets are close and steep. Flinders is different as its an offshore break. Fair paddle out though. But it is known for nice consisten rollers.
If you are seriously considering it, I highly reccommend grabbing a cheap flight down here and driving round and get a vibe of the different towns.
What is that break/beach that has a golf course above it on the headland down that way i remember going for a paddle out there and got some good waves i think it was st andrews beach?? that was really nice around there
Yeh thats St Andrews I think. Just a bit up from Gunnamatta
Cords, have a look through here http://www.surf-forecast.com/provinces/Victoria/breaks and look at where bouts all the Peninsula breaks are
Working with the worlds biggest head
Hurry up thursday your slowing down the pace of the week
Just bumped into Ryan Tiene at STM.
Good bloke?
A dude I work with fractured his pelvis today in the park, just reminds me how smart I was in taking out life insurance haha.
Good bloke?
Yeah he’s a really nice guy, we had a good chat. He’s injured at the moment and he said he’ll be back in about a month. I think he was in town for the Go Seek premiere. He was just visiting a few stores with DC national sales manager. I just turned my head and Tieny was standing right next to me haha.

last year in NZ on our final day riding, we went to the remarkables. A mate did the wallride(had pulled it off about 20 times that day) but went in on the wrong angle.
end result was a fractured pelvis among a few other injuries. Spent a weeka and a half in hospital, had to reschedule flights and had to fly business class so he could lay down.
All up cost $10,000 for hospital fees/extra acommodation/business class flight home. Thanfully he had good travel insurance, your an idiot if you travel with out it. especially if your boarding!
