Once had mice around the house trapping them was fun, but then I trained my Jack Russel and they never stood a chance.
Got the worst flu… on my week off work!!!!! DEVO
we caught a field mouse in a trap at my old house but it wasn’t quite dead so we were gonna do the humane thing and put it out of its misery by smashing it with the spade. I thought I could do it but chickened out at the last minute, so my bf did it. He whacked it so hard and its eyeballs flew out of its sockets! so hectoid! One of those times were you laugh just as a reaction for half a second and then nearly cry!
Back on topic though…Devo because bone scans showed I do have a small fracture in my foot…so I’m in a boot for at least another 3 wks (already been in it for one) and its ruined my plans of having a decent warm up (of at least 2 w/es) for my NZ trip so I’m not too rusty when I get there. Physio said to come back 2wks before NZ…and if I’m lucky he might give me the ok to ride the weekend before we go…but its just as likely that he won’t. I am lucky that I can still ride while I’m there at all, I guess! I’m gonna take the boot with me to NZ and wear it when I’m not riding.
Cords do what you think is right. Take the physio’s advice but don’t rely on it.
My knee (ruptured Meniscal, torn ACL, bone fracture in Femur): Surgeon said no riding until reco. Physio said no riding until surgery (Physio for the Aust Winter Olympic team).
I’ve been riding since 5 days after injury - physio was very disappointed until he examined me then could only advise from his training “keep doing what your doing because it’s the best recovery I’ve seen” but would not condone riding. “treating the human body is far from an exact science” is another quote I recall.
Advice (spazvice), if it’s not causing you great pain use it as normal (unless your at work because no compo if it’s re-injured without following medical advice).
more spazvice; it took one run to shake off the rust yesterday - fitness will take effort though.
It is common practice to double recovery and treatment time for fractures - although I’m a fast healer, a subtle (hairline/greenstick) fracture takes me days to heal (have Xrays of 3 occasions to prove) people with no active lifestyle and poor diet will take 3 weeks. Medics will 100% treat me as a none active/poor diet patient.
Which one are you??
Not something you want to hear from the docs so close to your trip cords! I hope it all works out well for ya
I don’t know that much about recovery times but what I do know, is that having it in the boot the last week has definitely let it improve. Although I could walk and run with a bit of bearable pain and it sometimes felt silly to be wearing it, I’m glad I have been because it has allowed it to rest & not be under stress. I’ll keep it on for another 2 weeks I reckon. That said, if the surf is good, I’ll struggle not to go out anyway…
Devo’d to read the Official snow reports then look out the window to the realisation of how badly they are lying today!!!!!!
No it is not a “chance of drizzle on the peaks” - it has been like it in the village all night and continues right now.
No the cover is not holding in the Cruiser Area - there is no cover! the base is melting!!
No there aren’t stretches of good snow on Highnoon for those on first lifts - there is only a thinning base to slide on.
Even though I can see what it’s like the official report makes me want to go and experience what they claim.
