Perisher To Open Early This Friday (May 20th)
Perisher Australia’s First Resort to Open this Friday!
Perisher will be Australia’s first snow resort to open for 2011, with skiing and snowboarding this Friday and Saturday from 10am to 3pm. Lift ticket prices will be $30 Adults and $15 Children. All lift ticket proceeds will be donated to charity.
Facilities to open: Perisher Ticket Office, Perisher Snowsports Hire, JAX Bar; Ski Rock Cafe. No Skitibe operations will be available at this time. Season Pass Holders ride for FREE.
I saw on perisher facebook that there will be some boxs and rails, im thinking of going on saturday, for $30 it should be a bit of fun.
WHAT!!! This will be the first season in 5 seasons I haven’t worked there and this crazy ass weather happens. I’m a bit gutted :(

someone said that moving the base layer of snow around might effect the cover for the rest of the season, anyone know if there is any truth/science behind this?

Might be meanin that when they are take away the base, they are removin the very thing that creates “Ground Freeze”????
The early “Ground Freeze” sets up the base for the season by holding a temperature that prevents the base and above from melt!!!!
Why it’s always good to get a heap of rain in the mountains before the first snow falls as well!!!!!
Don’t know if it would “really” affect things though!!!!! That’s the Theory!!!!!
