The STOKE thread

Pretty excited about this upcoming Sunday as I’ll be going for a 2180m saddle in the Japan Alps, that I can see from my house. I’ve been staring at it for years and I’m now ready to tackle it. Split board approach then crampons and ice axe. I’m just worried about the river crossing at the bottom.

How did you go with your expedition Gamblor?

Stoked to spend the weekend in the snow smile

Not enough for a slide, but it was great to catch up with heaps of friends at the General and enjoy the atmosphere.

I think it spells the end of my season. If we had made it to the top it would have been the perfect end to an amazing season. However, I’m still stoked that I went for it, and I checked out the area for next year

Stoked to have run out of money in the friendliest and most profitable town I know - even it is dead quiet and I only see half a dozen people each day.

Stoked that within 1hr of putting a notice in the supermarket I sell a 2nd hand HeadCam and can afford petrol to get back to the ‘Gong and watch district cross country.

Stoked my apartment comes with free FUEL TV.

Stoked with floor to ceiling windows that allow me to be bathed in sunshine while working at the computer with a grand view many of the runs - (Upper) Funnel Web, (Mid-Upper) Supertrail & Highnoon, (most of) Sponars and (almost) all of Antons.

Stoked that from the balcony I can chat to anyone walking through the village square.

Stoked to see snowmaking begin - it’s a great sound to awake to.

STOKED ALL OF WINTER IS AHEAD OF US!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (the energy right now is like foreplay) a.n.t.i.c.i.p.a.t.i.o.n.

I forgot one…..

Stoked to find $20 in my wallet that I didn’t know I had.

Thanks K2,
It comes at a price though - I’ll only be able to utilise it every other week and will be travelling 1000km every fortnight. < Hope that eases the jealously.
