Snow at Hotham…
MEDIA RELEASE:
Snow began falling at Hotham Alpine Resort after 10pm on Sunday 8 May. The falls came at the end of a cold day with intermittent rain and temps starting the day off at -2 degrees. By 9pm the windchill was -5.9 degrees and Hotham residents eagerly awaited the snowfalls.
This morning there is a thin white blanket of snow across Hotham and Dinner Plain. It has settled well on the ground that was already cold following a mild summer and the first snowfalls in early January.
More snow is forecast for today and each day through until the end of Friday. Wednesday looks like the day of heaviest snowfalls with up to 10cm predicted to fall down to 1200m.
With only 33 sleeps until the snow season opens and only 23 sleeps until the start of winter, the snow is welcomed (by most, apart from those who still need to get firewood up to their lodges!).
im so freaking pumped!!!!!!
