Man, I’ve been so busy with Uni recently I just haven’t had a chance to get on here. Missing you guys so much :’(

I’ve been having a look through and Gamblor has just about convinced me that I’m going to be going to Hakuba on my next Japan Trip (12/13 season fingers crossed). Looks so good.

It may be bad form, but I’m just gonna repost my 3 favourite shots and I’ll give a little speel about why as well. People can just ignore if they don’t care. Some of the photography has been absolutely awesome and I think that praise should be given where it is deserved. After last year’s winter season, this one had a lot to live up to and it has done well!

#3 - It’s not often you see so much green in a snow shot, generally it’s all about the snow. Florian, what you have done with the scenery is fantastic. It’s awesome to see a snowboarder doing something in such a different perspective.

#2 - Gamblor, even for you I think this is way above par. The original photo blew me away, focussing on that spray, but this one is just that step further. I think making the decision to show the rest of the frame has really brought the shot to life. Without making the photo exceptionally busy, you have changed it from a completely dynamic shot of the snow being disturbed in a perfect manner, into a colourful frame that perfectly highlights the rider in the jacket. Everything about the photo funnels your vision to what is happen, yet it still captures the glorious feeling of travelling through undisturbed areas of a mountain!

And finally
#1 - Lexa. Kudos. This photo is sublime. In fact, it’s so good I’m actually going to ask if I can get a print of it. For me, it captures everything I love about snowboarding in a single shot. The freedom that you feel when you can see for miles from the top of a mountain as well as the exhilaration of riding down said mountain with no-one around to disturb you. The timing is perfect, the scenery is picturesque and the feeling of jealousy on my behalf is enourmous.

In summary, it is shots like these that make me want to keep snowboarding, as well as improve on my own photography so that I might be nearly half as good some day.

hey dudes…thank you for the “warm” welcome!
