Thats what i youtube. I honestly think that cricket highlights have nothing special as i do not appreciate it as much.
Im not trying to go down on cricket here but if you go watch the footy highlights and you can see so much more.
carn the pies in 3rd place smile

Saw on 7 o’clock news that Australia will be taking all 3 fast bowlers (Siddle, Johnson and Clark) into 5th test.
Hopefully it pays dividends like in this previous test. Big momentum into the last game where the only Ashes winning outcome for England is a win,
Ashes to Australia in a draw or win. I like those odds

you forgot Hilfenhaus there nic smile
I think Andrew Hilditch (Head Oz selector) was saying that whilst Clark impressed in the 4th test, if they decide to go for a spinner for the 5th test, he will be the first bowler dropped. Seems the selectors are really retaining their faith in Siddle, Hilfenhaus and Johnson.

Hilditch was said he was “delighted” with the way the series was going .... hmmmmm interesting choice of words me thinks.

Hilditch is…I won’t say what I really think, but if his son is any chip off the old block (played state cricket with him a few times…little pompous bighead), then I know exactly what dad is like…

The selectors should be copping flack over the series, and to say that he is delighted with the way the series is going (which if you take it on what has just happened, great - he should be delighted with how the LAST MATCH went) is a whole lot of happy faces for the media, and not a lot of decisions that need to be made, like actually playing our best 11 cricketers in a game of cricket…

In my (non-selectors…unfortunately…however you guys may not agree raspberry) opinion, the Oval (going on past and recent record) is going to be like playing on concrete in the backyard with your 7 year old cousin bowling at you…batsman’s paradise, that will last 5 days and not crack up for the spinners on the last couple of days - by this token then, would it not seem logical to pick the 4 bowlers who are the only combination to get 20 wickets across the series, through a combination of swing and great areas (qualities that tend to work on most cricket pitches), and then if it is absolutely necessary we have 3 part-time spinners (North, Clarke and Katich - all who offer different styles, and who spin the ball both ways) who combined could lob out more (probably more effective) overs than Hauritz would anyway…

So my team for the 5th test would be the same as the last test - pending Watson not getting injured again raspberry

Why change something that has completely demoralised England in under 3 days?

I know who I would rather be facing as England out of a 4 pronged pace attack or 3 and Hauritz…

Hilfenhaus too, when you look at Clark’s economy last game he bowled very strongly. Hopefully the pitch is as fast bowler friendly again.
Hilditch does not particularly impress me. # tests to get it right, considering how much he gets paid to fly around and sleep in other countries you’d think he’d be able to do a little better. Makes me think back to giving Hayden so many ‘chances’ to come good.
On the spinners I doubt they will take in a specialist spinner when so many of the batsman spin in so many different ways.

If this season’s pitches are anything to go by, the Oval test is going to be a bat-a-thon. Of course given England MUST win to win the Ashes, they might “influence” the curator to “spice” it up a bit.

You go into a test playing your best XI - whilst Hauritz has done all that was asked of him in the first 3 tests, right now a bowling attack of Hilfenhaus, Johnson, Siddle and Clark is more potent then a bowling attack of Hilfenhaus, Johnson, Siddle and Hauritz.

I agree about the bowler’s (unless the pitch turns out horrible raspberry) and hope this last test is a great one.

Starts very soon, can’t be bothered to stay up all night but will watch until lunch.
Wonder if Flintoff will get fired up in his last test? I hope so but not too much, the Aussie’s need the win or a draw

Pitch looks pretty dry - I reckon Marcus North might be bowling a few more overs in the Poms’ 2nd dig…...

Yeah, last night I watched until hilfenhaus took the second wicket. Woke up to find 8/301. Looking pretty good.

Ah, rain just prior to lunch and now it’s still drizzling. Looks liek the draw will be the outcome at this rate. Good for Aussies getting the ashes but boring to watch :(
