How often to wax my snowboard?

Its pretty expensive for me to keep getting my board waxed at the store…..
So i was trying to find my way around it but i figured that it wouldnt be worth it wrecking my board

Safer to keep going to the store; price might even out with peace of mind

It all adds up to be a lot… thats why i was thinking of buying my own waxing iron and shiz

It is good to get your own stuff. When you are at home preparing to go riding you can wax your board and be stoked to do it. After it loses its fun… you can have a group of friends over and tell everyone to bring their own wax, and have a waxing party, those are fun.

As butters said earlier, shouldnt that be in the girls section? raspberry
normally when i stay in a lodge and i can scab the use of a waxing iron as long as i got my own wax

Haha, on that note of lots of people near wax does anyone hate the smell that hot wax has? I despise it.

Im alright with it. Although i have heard and smelt of scented waxes

Scented anything never smells like it is supposed to.

ahahaha that is quite true….

i waxed my board and tried to remove it with a credit card.

it’s a no go from me.

it just doesnt come off. not sharp enough i’d say.

Time to start looking for another option.
It doesnt have to be sharp, just strong.

I remember using a plastic ruler once.
it worked for a bit and then snapped off

Did quite alright actually with a plastic card.

I did both my boards, one using a metal paint scraper - worked a charm
The other I used an old drivers licence (fairly strong) - also worked fairly well
Finished both off with a good scrub with scotch brite.

Can’t really tell the difference between them.

I reckon as long as your plastic card is fairly strong, and you put a decent amount of elbow grease into it you can make do.

Would the metal paint scraper damage the base of your board at all?

does anyone actually just wax it and ummm….no scrape/brush and ride?

just find yourself an icy patch and flatboard it. ha ha.
