What are your goals this season?

Hey T-spce smile I stopped in year 11 and am doing Vce in year 12.
Mhs does get very little donations but it is more supported by the govt.
There ARE some brilliant teachers and most of them are in the maths departments.
On the contrary, there are also a fair few dud ones there.
I didnt like the idea of getting a good teacher based on luck with the chance that i might get a dud one, so i left.
Also, the 1 hour travel to and from got to me…

‘#  Fees about $2,000 per annum. Uniform about $500 per annum. Books about $500 per annum. Fees are all inclusive. Almost no other collections of monies from students except for specialist programmes such as rowing and Cadets.
# Other sources of funds – Donations $50,000 to $100,000 pa, Commissions $30,000 pa, South Yarra Sports Centre profit $85,000 pa, Canteen $60,000 pa, P&F $30,000 pa.’
Found that after a quick search. So all the +funding.
Most schools wouldn’t see that amount of money coming through other sources such as that and wow at canteen profit.

I think its cos they use to or still sell lollies raspberry
Also, they hard a pretty decent canteen until some rules were changed and healthy food were brought in. i dont think that their profit this year would be anywhere close to the same.

My school’s canteen used to be good, then the food went, then the drinks and finally the lollies. It doesn’t really make much sense because now the ‘staple food’ is potato cakes that are deep fried. I don’t think the regulations changed anything in terms of obesity among children

ooo brainwave. dont you guys have the outsourced canteens?
potato cakes are the bomb and it beats the food our canteen is selling.

there was a boycott and hamish and andy were going to come to our school but our principal threatened students involved with suspensions.
i dont think the government rules have changed much. I think the school changed the rules though.

yeah the canteen at my school is privately owned but still has to comply with regulations (unless the school are enforcing them). Suspensions as a threat? Not a huge threat really and price jacking sucks.

sorry not suspensions expulsions.
a couple of kids formed this group called “the kids of liberty”
it was more like a modern coup…

Ah, that’s more of a threat but probably could be argued against. (unfair) I read about it in the article, sounds a little weird to make a group and give it that sort of name…it’s just some food

Its not food if it tastes like crap…
I honestly think that the food they offer at the canteen is horrible, no range and pretty pricey for the crap they put out.A
they’ve improved slightly since that day but they’re not flash or anything like your outsourced canteens.

Maybe that was the government plan all along, if you don’t eat it then you can’t be gaining weight from their food ...just being unhealthy from not eating (although 3 meals is actually a lot)

I eat so much but im alwyas just hovering under 60.
maybe my new goal is to break 60kgs.
I have a ridiculously high metabolism and i snack non-stop.
dont get me wrong though, im unhealthy as hell

Yeah..it was down to pot luck sometimes.
I had a horrendous physics and english teacher.
Had to teach myself 3/4 Physics, and the crappy English classes resulted in a crappy enter.. oh well.

But I did tend to find that having good mates helped lots. A group of about 4 of us taught each other Physics and Specialist.
