LOL old guys, yes.
(depends on how you categorize old… old for snowboarding perhaps.)
I dont see much ego here on BW. I am glad for that.

HEYHEY. hey you. I take pride on my ego ok?
but im definitely not old
Maybe we should put this a selection process in place.
When people sign up and put their age as 50 or above, automatic rejection
nahhh, just joking, thats a bit harsh. We’re all gonna end up at 50 eventually

Dave99, though he has been missing for a while now, he would pass that mark.
Over 50 and still boarding? thats an achievement right there.
Tough man, dave.
I met a guy up at Hotham the other week who’d been boarding for nearly 25 years. He was getting reasonably old (probably mid 60s) and was shredding. Power to him.

Yeah, I didn’t, probably a lot, lot different to what it is now.

Burton Snowboards was established in 1977, that was 32 years ago.
Snowboarding was being done and experimented with for sport within the few years before that. Tom Sims, Chuck Barfoot and Jake Burton Carpenter were the 3 big names at the time, each started a company as they made their own boards for themselves and friends, eventually selling them to those interested. Sims Snowboards, Barfoot Snowboards, and Burton Snowboards.
It seems to me that it was Jake that made the best business decisions and had the best investments that paid off. This shows where he is today, but I think there are many theories as to why Burton is still around, Sims was sold off (I think) and Barfoot, sold and dissolved.
I’ve only seen one Barfoot board ever.
25 years ago it was 1984. I was 10 years old.
You sure dont find many people who have been riding for 25 years.
how about a boardworld selwyn day? lerts make a vid and get some riding in there….selwyn pr can be notified and provide lunch…snowmobiles and a sound system!
