Just over 2.5 but have a small house at Bonnie Doon so an hour and a half up to there then wake up early to get up to the mountain in the morning. Gets expensive fast is the only problem

Hey all, just joined up. 22yr F only been boarding for 3 years, heading back to square one after a mass stack last yr at perisher breaking & fracturing my wrist. Looking forward to posting more. Cheers.

I broke my wrist in the same spot a few years back in Canada. I snapped both bones clean in the same place as your fracture, and my hand slipped about an inch back up my arm, so i feel ya pain! I got back to Oz, got the plaster taken off, and one of the bones was still broken and the other bone had fused about 1.5cm too short. the Canadian doctors were either really shiit, or just dam lazy, cos they should have pinned it up the day it happended, all they did was play tug of war on my arm and pull my hand back up into normal position. I was awake during the tug of war game, i can still remember the noise of the bones and tendons rubbing.
I had to go back into Oz hospital, get the fused bone re-broken, and then both bones wired and pinned, and to make up the 1.5cm gap in the fused bone, they had to shave some bone off my hip and use that piece as a jigsaw piece in my arm.
Anyway the moral of the story is Canadian docs are hopeless, and after a couple of years I got back to pretty much 95% movement. It will never be the same again, and I have been told I will get artheritis pretty early, but its good enough. keep up the physio and it will be fine.

Broken wrists are not fun hey backcountry! Because I broke mine at Perisher, they too got to play tug of war! Was not cool, I was awake as well and all they had done was cut of my blood circulation with a tourniqet! I was out of the medical centre within 3 hours. Didn’t go to hospital until a week later and by then it was too late for surgery. Just ended up getting a cast for 6 weeks!

I guess I joined up ages ago but never did make it over to the forums until now.
Although Buller is closer, Falls is my preferred place to be in winter. Too bad the drive is like 5-6 hrs..
So far so good this year, too bad I may have done my ACL - scans pending. It ain’t gonna stop me though!
