What are your goals this season?

Day trips are too easy. Have you got gear?
and trust me mate, year 11 is a breeze compared to year 12.
word of advice: live like there is no tomorrow.
Dont follow that advice, just use it when you wanna hit the slopes raspberry

I’ve got gear but no board so normally hire something on the way up. Two 3/4s this year leave me with an easier year 12 though. Plenty of free time then

If you’re a bargain hunter, look out on other forums like ski.com.au for some good buys. Dont ebay snowboards because so many people ebay snowboards that its no longer worth it.
I bought a pair of boots last year from Auski down in the city for 70 bucks brand new. Salomons, not sure the exact model and all but it was 70% off. It wasnt an upgrade but i outgrew my old ones and i was riding a low budget.
If you look around long enough, you cna get really cheap gear and it will save you money really quickly wink

I might buy in on September bargains not sure though. eBay = bad for anything that you want in good condition.

not really.
i use ebay a lot.
I just dont old/secondhand stuff.
if you buy new stuff, they are almost always in awesome condition.
Im pretty sure i went during mid-late august last year just before interschools

If you dedicate a whole day to the park, you could pick up a lot.
K2, i used to be lazy to learn how to switch ride and once i spent a day learning it, its healped my park riding soooo much.

Yeh definately dedicating days to park helped. What I also found really good was riding with riders that were above my ability as it really pushed me to ride at their level and try tricks they were doing.

I have found that the group I ride with really changes my own riding.
If I am with a group of good friends that I’m stoked to be on the hill with I tend to ride more agressively becaue I am excited.
I tend to ride faster hit jumps that are bigger with more speed, and tackle a rail or box more than I would have otherwise. A good session hiking a box is a very memorable time. I hope each season will give me atleast one good memory of a group of good friends sessioning a box, or a little hit on the side of a trail and having a blast.
A place I ride most often uses plastic barrels to cover the pipes where the hoses connect to use the snow making machines. these plastic barrels prove to be very jibbable if the snow is positioned correctly around them… or if not. It is always a challenge to get to them, but once the first person does… the next person just HAS to, ya know… it makes a great fun day of riding.

Bonk the barel.
nose tap the barrel.
180 and tap the barrel.
If the barrel can hold your weight, spin a 180 on it.
Spin a 360 while on it.
180-nose roll to a 180 on the barrel.

Possibilities are endless after you then add FS and BS variety of rotations to it all.

so fun.
This just brought back good memories.

I never ride alone.
Despite how stupid it sounds, I kinda get bored and lonely when i ride by myself.

I only ride alone with headphones. Is definitely a lot more fun with others though and always good to have someone to talk to on lifts

I totally understand.
It doesnt stop me from riding alone, but it can be a deterrent.
I took the challenge this season and did more riding alone than I ever have. Maybe the good portion of about 3 days by myself. the worst is the chair lift. I brought my iPod and listened to music - I havent listened to music while riding much. Need some ear buds that stay in for sure.

I would much rather be with friends or my wife than be alone on the hill.
the bigger the mountain, the harder it would be to ride alone.
I am too adventurous and I like to go into the trees and the woods - I’d know better than to do that alone… I’d hope.

The thing is, when i do go up for a week or so, sometimes i just take a few days off riding because I just dont have that urge to go.
However, if i do head up with mates, i’d be the first one up making brekkie ready to tear up the run.
Im a wierd child.
I also get sick of my music when i listen to it a lot

I’ve got like 4000 tracks on my ipod which isnt a lot but i’ve been listening to them for a long time and the radio helps to kill some of my songs by overplaying them smile
Im an avid listener. I even got my big headphones and everything going when im off the slopes.
