I try to wax every 3 or 4 days. Hot Iron, not rub on.
The wet snow we get here seems to really slow you down, so i try to keep the base in good shape.
That being said i havent had my edges done for about 2 years.
While we are on the topic of waxing, how long does an average belt wax last for?
While we are on the topic of waxing,
shouldn’t that be in the girls section?

LOL too funny!
See, I miss Dave99, he should come around more often.

ooo i thought this was the girls section
sorry.
Ill take it somewhere else.
So how long does a belt wax last for?
Sorry I thought I already replied, looks like it didn’t submit. A belt wax will last longer than a rub on but not as long as an iron on. I would estimate most the wax would be gone after a full day of riding.
On the topic of waxing:
I’ve never waxed my own board before but I plan to give it a try.
Do I really need a specific scraper?
To be honest, I’m just too lazy to drive out to my nearest board shop (~25 minutes drive) to buy one.
Can I make do with: Scraping using an old credit card and following up with some scotch brite to buff it up?
In my personal opinions, no you do not need a scraper. although i think your credit card may snap if you do so.
If you’ve never waced your board before, im assuming you’re gonna have to buy wax, an iron and a scraper.
Scrapers only cost about 5 bucks and if im correct, a plastic paint scraper would do the job if you have one lying around.
If this is a stupid question, just ignore it. However, will there be a difference between using typical household candle wax instead of a snowboard wax? I’ve always had this curiousity and im wondering if anyone ahs actually tested this out.

Honestly, unless it is a very thin layer of wax I doubt you will be able to remove it with a credit card. I’m sure any store will post it out to you free of charge if you purchase one over the phone. I would be happy to organise that for you if you get in touch with me - .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)
Even if it costs to post you’d only be looking at a normal stamp anyway. Credit card would be quite slow work to get a nice coat.

Well its not just that. The wax is hard to scrape off the board and unless you use a meagre amount of wax, i’d say that the card would snap.
Probably not snap, it’s actually quite hard to snap a credit card but bend; definitely.
Actually, true.
It just wouldnt quite scrap it.
I dont actually have a kit myself but i always scab a wax off my mates and what im saying is a credit card probs wouldnt work.
They’re real cheap anyways
If you’re really desperate for a scraper check your board shorts (if you have a pair) T-spec. Many of them have them attached in the pocket.
Ahaha yes. I’ve got one.
And cos im no surfie, i only found out what the hell that was quite recently.
I’ve got a few of those hanging in the pockets of my boardies
