What are your goals this season?

front and back 180’s regular and switch
front boards
really be able to stomp straight grabs with a little steeze, a fat method or stale is always a pleasure to see in b/county or park.

heelside turns, lock in bend and fly…

FS 270s to FS boardslides (or is it BS because your back is facing the rail before the spin?) are easier than standard FS boardslides imo.

if youre coming at it with your rail to your back, you throw a front 270 and land front board, its a front 27 to switch FB..  assuming you lock it under your regular back foot, or switch front foot. ya heard? haha.

anyway im gunnin for 5s this year.. got 4 way 360s this year and started on 5s, only to learn how to 450 better than anyone you know.. not onto anything.. just into the knuckle.. it hurts.

so yeah , 5s.. and switch tail blunt pivot back 1 out.. thats such a slick box trick..

If the rail is to your back when approaching the rail that would be BS.
The direction you spin is the same terminology.

I am choosing to elaborate further on my own comment. lol

This always confused me for a long time.
You see a picture of a guy in a magazine boardsliding and the rider is facing in the direction they are sliding (looking down the rail) and it is called a BS boardslide. But you’re thinking - the rider obviously turned 90degrees FS, so why is it called a BS boardslide? it is because the rail was to his BACKSIDE as he approached it. So if you 270 onto the rail - it may indeed be a backside approach but you do a FS 270 and land backwards to slide…. sliding backwards is called FS… because had the rider done a simple boardslide onto a rail with the rail in front of them and turned 90 degrees BS and slid backwards - this would have been called FS, because of the position of the rail being on the rider’s FRONTSIDE.

Does that help?
Clear as mud, right?

I think i might just try to do fs 270s to fs bs and spin fs from my toe edge on the lhs of the rail

haha

Jump and land the peak chair waterfall in whistler.

someone gapped my buddy ahead of me jumping it last year… guy named robot from our riding crew that day.. rob was ahead of me, robot hucked off the top and landed like 5 feet ahead of rob.. so gnarly. rob almost got stepped on.. i laughed. haha

I attempted it last season on a big pow day but just made a massive crater, ive only seen skiers succsesfuly stomp it. The landing is pretty flat so i think i need to smash it with more speed, 30cms of pow and its on!! smile

Air jordan has epic consequences the second huck has plenty of trees in the landing zone. dont think ill be trying this one.

How is everyone going with their goals? Stomped anything that you have been trying all season?

Really wanna get my fs and bs 3s down smooth, more variety on rail features (ie try some 270s on or switch), and get more confidence to do more down and kink rails/boxes
...I’d better get practicing lol

I’m stoked because I achieved my goal of Fs and Bs 3s and started working on stylin them more too. Comfortably doin Bs boards and lips on down rails now. And got more tech on some of the easier features like fs 270s on to cbox and 270 out, and switch back boards on cbox and smaller flat boxes. Worked heaps on switch riding so far this season too which has helped massively with doing 180s of bigger features and attacking things in switch.

If you dedicate a whole day to the park, you could pick up a lot.
K2, i used to be lazy to learn how to switch ride and once i spent a day learning it, its healped my park riding soooo much.

New goal: Get up to snow at least 2 more times. Season is slipping away from me :(

Since you are in the yarra valley, it should be on the way for a lot of people right?
Theres is a group on facebook that is dedicated to carpooling to buller and most people would be mroe than happy to pick you up if you are on the way.
I will try and get the link for you.

Getting there is not the real problem it’s getting them time and money together. Hard to know when homework or parties will be too raspberry
