AYUMU HIRANO - 12 YEARS OLD
Japanese young gun Ayumu Hirano blew everyones mind when he poached a few halfpipe runs at this years Burton US Open 2011 in Stratton. The 12 year old didn’t make it into mens finals but instead won the junior jam going absolutely huge. Compare this to a 12 year old Shaun White and you might have an idea of what the future will bring for snowboarding.
What a little legend!
yeah, what will the future bring if 12 years olds are throwing down like that? I hope things go well for him
With Mini shreds like that, the only thing stopping progression is injury of these young rippers with amazing talent.
just hope halfpipe doesn’t go the way of aerials in skiing - so technical that it has little to do with skiing anymore. The athletes are just gymnasts put on skis for the run in.
Yeah, halfpipe needs to keep that gritty-ness about it.
I don’t think snowboarders would let it go the way of arial skiing. If it did, it would be a completely different audience, shunned by mainstream snowboarders.
geez his gonna shred sooo hard in comps
