Dan, with these guys, same as last year, choose your level of luxury so to speak, just combine the accom car package with flights, we fly to CHC, cheaper and doesnt really get you any less snow time. Last year we extended by two days and had some time at Mt Hutt on the way back.

The card thing might be like NZ, all you do is put it in your pocket and there are automated gates that open when your up close to them, way faster and easier. You can track your number of runs and vert metres on the net as well.
Also worth looking at is http://www.skimax.com.au - we are actually in the process of working out a special deal with them for Boardworld members. It will be an exclusive deal just for us, I think they are giving 5% off any of their advertised packages. Not huge but every dollar counts when travelling overseas. I’ll keep you posted on it when I hear more.
Yeah I always look at skimax deals. They are always so well priced! Have used them before for my NZ trip, and will definitely use them again. Skiexpress looked pretty reasonable too though.

I’ll prob try to go for the Falls/Hotham Season Pass early bird tertiary, which is $699 before 27 May. So pretty much as long as i do my 7days im clear. Bu also gotta make sure if ive got money for the BW Shred too.
I think this year im pretty much gonna camp in my car all trips to save money (BW trip aside). Did it last year at falls and it was perfect with a mattress in the back of the car

So where do i look for these tertiary passes? Im still at uni but doubt ill need a season pass, maybe just a 5 day pass for hotham 
It doesn’t look like Hotham offers tertiary day passes (or 5 day passes). They only offer youth passes but you need to be 18 years or younger. You can buy a tertiary season pass, but that’s it by the look of it. Maybe give them a call to find out for sure: (03) 5759 4444.
Your other option is to buy the early bird tertiary season pass and just make sure you get down there enough to make it worthwhile. At least if forces you to snowboard more. Good excuse, ey? 
Our season might be from June to the start of October (16-18weeks) but the money making period is only 10 weeks max. That depends on on snow cover by the July school holidays and it is all finished by the start of Sept - by then Australians are thinking of sun and surf and little advertising or infrastructure have money put into it re snow.
When doing a budget for a winter business operating in the Aust snow fields operators and owners can only account for 6 weeks of profit!!!!!! That’s not a lot of time to make money to cover 52weeks.
I don’t want to defend the exaggerated prices of EVERYTHING in the snow - especially lift tickets, but this is the reason Australian resorts are the most expensive in the world. I believe Thredbo is consider the most expensive anywhere.
I was speaking to Harry the owner of Pacific Prizm this week and he said that 90% of of his hire bookings are for people travelling to NZ. Having said that, people that travel to our local resorts may find lots of open space and short lift lines.
Would you pay more to have less people in your resort?
I suspect Cords is doing the smart option re: Selwyn $20 park pass - I wonder how many people she’ll be sharing the park with though. I hope it’s packed (not because I want Cords to put out) but because it will send a clear message to the big resorts that Australian sliders will go were their dollar goes further.
