Hey Dan,
Sorry, I used to teach at Thredbo but haven’t worked there in a couple of years. When are you going to Thredbo?
Oh ok, bummer. It’s not definite yet (depends on the finances!) but it would be beginning of September (most likely first week, maybe second)...
Yeah sorry about that Dan, hopefully we can still help you a lot through Boardworld.
If I am down there at the same time I will catch up with you…
Yeah that would be awesome!! This thread is a great example that its possible to teach and learn over the net! I am going to NZ at the end of the month and will make sure I get some footage of myself. Hopefully you and some of the other instructors can pick apart my technique My skills are still pretty basic atm but I think Ive boarded enough to already pick up some bad technical habits - such as the counter rotation, I know I do that.
Cheers
No problem, I thoroughly enjoy helping people ride better. I should be down there in September. Email me before you go and if I’m there let’s catch up for some riding!
Also just remembered about the Straight Runs article/video. It might help you guys visualise what I was talking about before in regards to alignment and pointing directly down the slope when going straight.

Yeah thanks that would be great! if I can make it in Sep will definitely shoot you through an email.
A boardworld shred day needs to get organised i think….
Hell yeah! I’ll wait here..
I’m in for sure…
snocam Daily Run, now featured on Boardworld.
https://www.boardworld.com.au/content/category/snowcam-daily-run/
In part celebration of my daily video being featured on boardworld I’m adding an early short video around 7:30 am.
It will be low elevation 1365m at Valley Terminal, Thredbo around 20 sec.
Conditions looked awesome today! I think the early video is a great addition.
How much fun did you have in the morning?
Hey spaz, what run is the one you take on the vid for ‘Monday 13th July | Thredbo Snow Conditions’? It looks awesome!
Good work getting off main trail today spaz. How’s the snow in general in your opinion?
Hi Dan, that’s Bushranger - a nice little tree run, I don’t like it if it hasn’t snowed recently.
rider, the snow has become very good, it’s what you expect for mid July maybe more, GCB is very deep, there is no way to hike out, you sink to your waist each step-probably why it’s closed. Up high the cold air is sucking any moisture out of the settled snow and it just seems to be drier each morning. See todays vid the hand full I pick up vanishes when I try to crunch it. The man made is enjoyable, not like in the past, you don’t stick to it, it doesn’t turn to cement, it acts like wind blown under the board.
