Whistler Feb 7th - My second GoPro edit

Avatar

Hey guys,

Her’s my second attempt at a GoPro edit. All the footage was shot last Monday from a day on Whistler Mountain with finney and Michelle. Please feel free to give me feedback, I know my filming/editing skills need work.  tongue wink

nice clip Rider. Looks like it was a fun day. I love the bit early when you stop after finney falls, then he takes off and you catch a heel edge and fall back down the hill LOL
Good vid smile

When is footage from the weekend comin up? when you did the cliffs etc? cant wait to see that one!

Hopefully I’ll free up some time soon. I love playing around and learning how to edit, it’s just the time factor at the moment. I’ll get to it soon I promise.  grin

Yeh your super busy as is. dont know how u find time to edit footage (which i know is a drawn out process) on top of running boardworld and getting riding in too! Props to you!

Haha, I still haven’t even looked at my footage from the Bahamas etc.. so behind.  LOL

Also I must apologise to Krick. He made a quick appearance on the day and I wanted to put him in the video, but we got up to the top of Flute Bowl and realised the memory card was full, so I had to delete the last thing filmed, which was Krick’s guest appearance, sorry buddy.  hmmm

I want to hear audio, laughing, hooting or even some heavy breathing!  tongue rolleye

Good job rider, good job.

While watching it sparked me with a few idea’s - mainly, boardworld needs to include something like “boarder’s best mates” section. ie:skiers, kayakers, boogie boarders, BMXers etc… Especially as a few of us ski also or have so much fun riding with skiers wink or sharing in a community of like minded people who don’t use a board.

After all we aren’t exclusive - it’s boardworld not boardersonly and skiers etc are part of our stoke.

In all my years editing I’ve found if you don’t edit straight away it will never get done.

I have hrs of baby footage I’ve never looked at, she’s now 7.

Even for clients, if I don’t load and start editing before the next job comes in…. forget it. I had one very nice, regular client who waited 2 years for me to catch up, she kept booking me which made for further delays.

I have a wedding video that is 4 years old - long story to that. They moved after requesting changes (they do have copies of the dvd), the video is still loaded on an external drive and in Final Cut.

Point is:
Do a quick edit the day you shoot - at least cut out the crappy footage. It will only take you an hour or so and you can do it while watching TV (listening to tv)
Then if you haven’t completed that video, and you do the same thing 3 times that week. It’s easy to put together a highlight clip of the week at the end of the week/month/season or year.
