We made it smile Whats the go with the Whistler Village Gondola… heard a couple of peeps complaining that it hasn’t been running the last couple of days??

Good to catch up today dude and stoked you had a good time on the hill for the short time I was out riding with you guys grin

Something along the lines of the gearbox at the top station is wrecked. Replacement is coming from US apparently but not 100% sure on that so don’t quote me on it. Stopped by the top station the other day when I was working and they’re working on it at present by the looks of it so hopefully will be up and running sooner rather than later.

So wet and heavy up there today… 1500m freezing level and rising

Debating to go or not tomorrow. My friend was there today and said conditions were kinda bad even though I’m guessing the snow is good. And according to forecast winds will be 40-60 kmh for tomorrow which means alpine will still be closed?

I’d say theres a good chance alpine will still be closed if winds are going to be up there again, only chance would be Harmony for a bit given it was the most recent whistler alpine lift open. As I explained previously Blackcomb generally gets their bombing and avi clearance done a bit quicker so may be worth trying GE or 7th but I’m just speculating now. If you do come up Whistler and are on red have a look out for me and I can easily make a phone call for you to get an idea if I don’t already know after the morning meeting.

Oh my… so good to be back on the mountain today. I was like a little kid in a candy store. I almost wet my pants when I saw how good the terrain park is on Whistler. By far the best I’ve ever seen it. So many fun feature, nice jumps; the park crew has done a great job getting it in such good shape.

Yeah the snow was a bit wet and heavy today, but I had so much fun. Maybe I’ve lost perspective being away for a month. Also my phone has been off (dead battery, no charger) till now, if anyone was trying to call me.

I’m looking forward to catching up with all you guys soon. finney, I’ll probably be down for King of the Rail. We need to have a few belated birthday drinks too.

I’m probably going to cypress tomorrow with my friends, even though I really want to hit up Whistler =(.

Up top the snow was pretty good today in my books, definitely a lot lighter than I expected - not the best snow I’ve seen all season but was still great given how high the freezing level is. It got really wet and sticky down lower towards the olympic station but that didn’t really phase me all that much as it’s quite rare to ride down that low anyway. I think pyromaniac’s grin from ear to ear with the snow we had made me realise just how spoilt we are when we’re here for the whole season and get picky about the days to head up when it’s not exactly perfect.

Jeremy, belated b’day drinks sound like a plan, say crystal lounge or dusty’s one afternoon after riding?

Sounds good dude. Dusty’s works well.  wink

Yeah I was pretty stoked with the snow up top today. Heavyish but FRESH.

Sounds good, fmf. Booterville day soon sounds like a great idea. Just need to build up a bit of strength again. Super keen to hit it though.
