NAP, that last shot is amazing! Really nice work!

How did you manage that and what’s the deal with your set up? The background is exceptionally black.

Shot it on macro 1/125, F13, iso 200 with flash. Its an old pentax K100d with a tamron 18-250mm lense (possibly more detail than you needed to know).

There was nothing immediately in the background and it was getting fairly dark out, when the flash goes off it highlights the foreground to the point that the background ends up looking black.

WOW!

The images that are coming out of the Nor-Hemi are making me so jealous…....
If only it was a lot colder here in Oz and all this torrential rain was big, fat, fluffy Pow Pow,

so we are getting as much rain as aus is in whistler right now, but managed a couple of shots at last nights rail jam through the wet!

yeah those boards are real bendy, that was as he landed 270 on, amazing to see how much it can flex on impact
