I hope you guys had a great Christmas over there. Am I reading this right…? 100+cm in the last 48 hours, Nearly 200cm in the last 7 days. How’s the snow?  big surprise

Yeah it’s been pewking pretty hard of late! Lots of it more recently has fallen as rain though, particularly in the village of course. It has also been very windy up top and the alpine hasn’t been open for days. Lots of fresh up there no doubt! Not sure if it’s opening today or not… I haven’t actually been up there for a few days because of issues with my knee.

yeah it’s in the whis park, saw it on my last day off.

and yes Jeremy you’re reading that correctly, I’ve worked the past 4 days and can easily say that I never shovelled anywhere near that much at any point in the 08/09 season. It’s been a huge workout every day both before and after work either moving fresh out of the way or chipping the ramp down at the end. Spotted a few nice tree lines over the past few days which I’ll be giving a shot tomorrow. Theres a few lines through but still plenty of fresh waiting to be destroyed, guessing I should easily get some knee to waist deep in there looking at the few lines leading into the region. Will charge the camera tonight and if I remember I’ll take it up tomorrow.

Finally a day off today..

Peak 2 Peak treeline was a great start to the day after waiting 45mins just to get onto the gondola.

Hit the tree line off red chair which was awesome, nice steep entry to the trees with plenty of pow around.

Super stoked that I finally hit Pakalolo which is a chute that I’d always seen but never known how to get there. Mate took me up there and it was amazing. Some of the steepest riding I’ve ever done which I kind of expected given it’s a double black diamond haha

And lastly fed a Whiskey Jack for the first time grin

Yeah it was.. despite the insane crowds and lift lines it actually exceeded my expectations. Going to go hunting more fresh stuff tomorrow. Hopefully the Whistler alpine opens as Dan said it’s been closed for the past 5 days due to the huge snowfall and high winds so they just can’t get all the avalanche control done. Ski Patrol have been bombing like crazy and even bombed the red chair region twice this week which I haven’t seen done before so I can only imagine how crazy it is up the top. Once it is open it’s going to be insane, well over a metre of fresh stuff just waiting to be hit up there, I’m trying to think of what to hit first but I just can’t make up my mind.
