I tried to convince the better half to get married at Thredbo but he wouldn’t give in! He said he proposed there and that was enough. So we are getting married on a beach at the Whitsundays!

Beach!!!! He does realize that you guys will get chafing from havin sand in ya thongs!!!! And then there’s the descision about what type of footwear to wear as well!!!!

Hey what happened to Dark any way???? I miss his sense of humour on these pages!!!!  cool hmm
Nah Mizu, proper beach wedding is no footwear!  I’m all for the beach wed, my missus n I didn’t even have to discuss it cool smile

When I read the first paragraph I hadn’t realised it was a quote from crazy cause it wasn’t in a ‘bubble’!!!!!!  big surprise

I was only tryin my hand at some humour by tryin to differentiate the ‘thongs’ from the ‘footwear’!!!!

So it didn’t work??? downer

Mizu! See the handzooming right over me forehead (make an airplane noise)  blank stare

For fear of being overly harassed I hesitate to say what I’m about to…

In a little over one month I’ll have secured and paid for my accommodation in Thredbo for all of winter. There is room for others to crash there, either on the floor or if the sofa is available there. My flatmate and I decided we wouldn’t accept money from anyone staying but instead agreed we would ask them to cook and supply food while they are there or alcohol, or both. Whichever we deemed the most appropriate would be.

So um, yeah. Anyone want free accom in Thredbo next winter? You might have to star in a video though wink

I don’t think many younger people realise if you book in a large group early in the year, you can save a heap of money. Problem is no one can commit to dates and the person who makes the booking often cops the extra expense when people don’t turn up.

Last year, for example, my mate booked a 8 bedroom penthouse- sleeps like 15 people, for 10 days in early August. The cost for each of us was under $100/night- for 10 people. The place was better than fantastic- close to the village, no uphill hike at the end of the day, spacious- even with all our gear and bags!!

Organising accom, travel etc isn’t hard compared to people to commit.

I think we will have to organise some sort of contest (or maybe a few) with prizes to give away for those attending. Sponsored by Boardworld of course. Any ideas?

Have a fancy dress day on one of the days, and have a prize for the best outfit!!!!!

Have a ‘race around the resort’ where ya have to collect clues that lead to the next, and eventually the finish line!!!!!

Snowball throwin comp, where ya have to hit a target (maybe one of the sponsors can chuck a big promo sign to use, like a big Dragon etc)!!!!!

Get the resort to rope of a small run and have a lay down snowboard race!!!!!

I’ll try and come up with more ideas!!!!!

TRY! You’ll try!!

I like the race around resort idea, but with mandatory “pit stops” at places like Black Sallies, Merritts Restaurant, Kareela Hutte.  It could cover a whole weekend!

The “Film Your Best Line” could be held over the entire season. The prize could be a Headcam!!!!!

very slight possibility I’ll be in.. Will only be back in aus for a couple weeks or so when I come back for a mates wedding in late June/early July so it’s probably a bit too early in the season unfortunately.. either way i’ll be keeping an eye on this thread and if by the off chance I’m around I’ll come on down for a shred

That’s mostly because after a night out in Thredbo, you can’t remember what went on in Thredbo!!!!!
And the longer you spend in Thredbo the less you can recall.

Just be prepared for LEG BURNERS!!!
I haven’t met a “Perisher only” person, during their first week in Thredbo, that can do a full run without stopping to rest 3,4 or 5 times in one run.

And if you like to go fast, like, really really fast…...

Oh yeah, you don’t need to use T-bars either in Thredders. There are only 5 anyway!
