What a crazy week it’s been for The Mile High presented by Carlton Dry. The world’s best snowboarders converged at Perisher Resort — putting on a show during the practice sessions — before less-than-favourable contest conditions set in for the next few days. Qualifications were postponed but a 30cm powder day was enjoyed by all. The contest pushed ahead and low visibility didn’t stop the competitors from throwing down and going for broke. Darcy Sharpe was unstoppable in the men’s division, finishing in top place ahead of Tyler Nicholson and Sven Thorgren. Local ripper Jess Rich was also in fine form and took out the women’s division and the “Most Style Award” on home turf.
