We got the first gameplay footage last week at E3, and now Playstation has just uploaded this video featuring some more gameplay and a behind-the-scenes look.
It’s being billed as a return to the original style of THPS games, picking up where THPS4 left off. Most of the classic characters have moved on (barring Tony and Andrew Reynolds), making way for the likes of Nyjah, Jaws, Leticia Bufoni and Ishod Wair.
I’m not expecting this to be overly impressive…but it would be nice to be proven wrong. I like the sound of going back to basics. Loved playing these and just doing stupid shit…backflipping into a grind on power lines or triple kickflipping off a three storey building and catching a secret tape on the way. Anyone who even compares THPS and Skate is clueless! Both good series but nothing alike besides involving skateboards.
What do you guys think?
Ah man, I used to spend hours (more like days) at a time playing Tony Hawk 3 on PS2. Good to hear they’re trying to get back their roots. Not a fan of the lights and special effects under the skateboard, though.
I always enjoyed playing Skate as well, but you’re right, nothing alike.
Will be interesting to see how it all comes together. It was a fun game until it got a little out of control then SKATE came a long and it was all smooth.
Showing my age but spent WAY to much time playing Pro Skater 2 - that sound track was the best. Saw Papa Roach at Soundwave this year, brought back many memories…
Yup… Spent waayyyy to many late nights in my late teens/early 20’s playing THPS 2 and 3.. Id love to give this one a whirl when it comes out!
