VANS BOWL-A-RAMA BONDI 2015: RESULTS & PHOTOS
Masters Division Results:
1st: Tony Hawk (USA)
2nd: Chris Miller (USA)
3rd: Steve Caballero (USA)
Pro Division Results:
1st: Bucky Lasek (USA)
2nd: Pedro Barros (BRA)
3rd: Alex Sorgente (USA)
Bucky Lasek took out a deserved victory in the pro division, as he focused on difficult tricks rather than simply trying to blast as high as possible. This switch stalefish was definitely a highlight.
For the first time in 6 years, Pedro Barros didn’t win the pro division. Unfortunately he bailed three of his four final runs. It was still enough for him to take second place, and along with his trademark 540s, this unfathomable stalefish was a highlight.
Alex Sorgente is slowly edging closer to the top of the event. He’s pretty much the only skater throwing down rocket and judo airs regularly, and he has some of the best in the game. I expect he and Pedro will be neck-and-neck in the future.
Tony Hawk once again lead a field of legends to claim his second successive victory. It was definitely a lot closer this year, with Chris Miller breathing right down his neck the entire time. Classic Hawk Madonna.
Nicky Guerrero was super unlucky to miss a spot on the podium. He always brings the most stylish and technical inverts.
Massive shout-out to Chris Russell, who tore the place apart without pads and probably nailed the best two runs of anyone on the day during his heats. He qualified second, but unfortunately injured himself on his first run in the finals. He was throwing down some of the gnarliest padless airs the bowl has seen.
