Alright, so been in Niseko for about a week now. Travelling mostly alone. Condions certainly havnt been horrible, but get a good pow day and that seems to what I prefer to ride in.
We’ve got some good conditions coming across in the next 4-5 days, so frothing on that coming over.
Question for you all is.
Here on holidays, wanting to ride as much as i can.
What do you practice when the conditions arnt ideal?
Switch, carving, butters, little tech tricks (suggestions below), park, high speed laps. One thing I’ve learnt doing seasons when the conditions are poor: time spent on your snowboard is time well spent. Learning to ride well and have fun when the snow isn’t ideal, means you’ll be that much stronger and have that much more fun when it’s epic. Just keep shredding, bro!
Suggestions: nosepress, tailpress, switch nosepress, switch tailpress, nosepress to backside 180 (so much fun), frontside butters, backside butters, frontside 180s off your toes, backside 180s off your heels etc. Let me know if you need more.
You go to the bar and learn how to drink really well.
No no no
Do what rider26 advises! It’s a lot more better for your health and riding.
+1 what jez said.
Pretty much as much ground tricks as you can. Maybe use this as a base, since you’re in Japan. =P
hop in the onsen (pref outside onsen) & soak it all in
learn these
He forgot to mention, make sure you’re wearing a facemask!
Good ol white rooms, probably one of my favorite things to do on groomed runs!
All great ideas tho! Been doing very very little park while iv been here, which is a little surprising considering the amount I was there at Perisher.
Conditions turned pretty ideal here last night!
So froth levels are pretty high! !
