I think if you go through the checkout rigmarole it’ll give you the option to select another region/currency I think????? (Again, don’t quote me)
^ Nope, already tried it.
Lucky ya didn’t quote me on it then!!!!!
So….. Brushes.
Tell me how you clean your brushes.
KGO!
So, doctors:
I need opinions on this surgery I’m about to do.
Check out these pics:
How should I perform the surgery?
I’m thinking epoxy and hard clamp, then file down and re-epoxy to cover.
But it may be more effective to cut, epoxy and work it down, although not visually appealing.
Whatever it is, this patient needs to be saved!
Opinons, doctors?
I don’t think you need to worry about that at all. That’s like nothing, just a small chip. I have lots of that on my Lando.
That’s a tiny chip. Best way to do it would be as you said, epoxy, clamp for 24 hours, then sand it back and you’ll be fine.
Cutting it seems a bit un-necessary for me on such a small chip.
Personally Id just rip it off… but then again I tend to buy new boards way too often so its a little less of a high priority for me to go all out on such a small boo-boo.
On my Lando I just rip it off or cut it with chips like that and just let it be. It’s not gonna affect anything unless it delams. I think you’re overworrying about it because it’s a new board haha.
Agree - the epoxy plan if it keeps you from worrying, but otherwise just don’t hit anything in that exact spot and make it worse
Just been reading through this thread (very entertaining lol) and have come to realise the last time I had a board tuned at a shop was in the late 90s . Waxing it yourself is easy, I just do a warm/cold mix. If I start noticing burrs I use a file, and with ptex i just burn the stick and drip. Sure that doesn’t always last forever with the worse damage, but after a few refixes i like how it looks like your board has a gnarly looking scar haha. Probably doesn’t sound very technical or advanced, but my system works for me - I won’t win many races, but I can keep up
Not too worried about it actually, more concerned about the gouges on my agent rocker.
Just wanted to see what ppls opinion of it would be, and I was considering just straight cutting and filing, but it seems a touch deeper, dunno if you can see it, but it’s not just a stright chip, the rock I hit must have had a arrowhead like shape, and some of the sidewall’s been pushed in and there’s a bit of 2nd layer that you can see, esp when peeling the overhang out. Definitely an epoxy job.
If I was worried it’d be “What do I do gaiz halp!?”
Plus I don’t like changing boards too often as I’m particular to what kind of graphics are on it.
I’d cut it off with a Stanley, then file it smooth so it doesn’t tear again!!!!!
Or if ya feel like playin with glue, leave the flap there, tape around the edge to form a dam, then fill it up with some black epoxy, coupla days, file and sand!!!!!
* If ya go the epoxy option, don’t clamp the flap down as it’ll give the glue somethin to bond onto!!!!!
Is that right? I wouldn’t know, I’d just glue it MWAHAHA. This year my serious powder board turned 15!!! Crazy, just crazy!!
at 15, that makes it a 2000 model board… probably better to use a 2015 park board lol.
^ I’d say it’s still useable as long as it’s not outdated fad tech.
Even then if it still works, then it’s good.
I’ve seen ppl rip it out with 20 year old burton boards. =)
Nothin wrong with old boards, however the timber used in the core will lose it’s pop, and the resins used will harden!!!!!
In short, that board won’t exactly ride the same as it did when it was born!!!!!
