2015 Formula 1 GP

Avatar

With the F1 season fast approching, I figuered i’d make a thread for this years GP.
Unfortunatly no O/S trips for the F1 this year though. Saving coinage for a potential Japow trip.

So far two cars have been released, Williams and Force India… Failari and McHonda should be released by Feb 1.

Williams.

Force India

I just want to let ppl know that what I like to do is about a week to a few days before the GP starts, I go to Albert park really late at night on my bike and loop the circuit a few times.

Because the fences are up and ready to go it is awesome and nice and smooth.

Just sayin’.
I won’t talk about what speeds I was overtaking a small toyota going mega slow in one of the S-bends. =)

Moto or Pushy?

I’d be to tempted to put my foot down, and with my luck the blues and twos would be behind me as soon as i did. raspberry

Though I have wanted to go in the fun run they do around the circuit. Either in a peddal car, that i’d do up to look liek a F1 car. Or a more recent idea, was to make up some parts for the Skate-a-Trons, so they look like F1 cars, and skate around the circuit.
LowGuido and I could do 5.3km in 10-15mins easy. Especially on a nice wide smooth race track xD

@TJ: Moto of course! =)

Nice. Maybe I should ride down there and do the course with you.

1000kms on a CBR600… might be a but uncomfy hahaha.

On the plus side, I could probably get down there in about 7 hours if I really wanted to… wink

Cbr to Melb, can be done in a little over 5 on a Hyo GT650R… not that i’d know… just saying…

Haha I’m assuming you’d be over 175km/h most of the time to do the trip in 5.5h…

Think the fastest my CBR has been is 200 and that was scary enough.

^ haha yeah… I’ve done like 203 on my zx10r and yeah.. was pretty scary.

Anytime you wanna come down close to the GP and loop the circuit you let me know! =)

125 average easy. North cbr, to north melb suburbs is about 630km.
Refueling can be done pretty quick.

I’ll be at the Melbourne race again (I believe for the 7th year in a row).

Cheyne, I believe that force India is last year’s car with this year’s nose and livery. The new car will be unveiled at testing. McLaren are doing another online unveiling in the 29th Jan. Can’t wait to see it!

P.s. I’ve driven (and walked) the Melbourne circuit many a time; both just before the race with all the grandstands up and regularly during the year. Whilst it’s pretty cool with the stands up it is pretty heavily policed and they seem to be blocking it off earlier and earlier each year. I wouldn’t think it’d be worth driving/riding from interstate for tbh. 3 years ago me and a friend went down in our new cars just over a week before it officially started and it was all blocked off. I live about 15 min from the track though so not such a waste of time!

Yeah, im looking forward to seeing McHonda. If i do tipping again, ill be putting my money on Danny for champion this year, after his stellar performance last year in a car that couldent compete with the Merc engine. And will be tipping McHonda for Constructors. Screw DRS, VTEC YO! raspberry

Ah, Erin. I keep forgetting to ask what you guys have planed for the Melb GP. With the change in my shift i now have that weekend off, but dont have ticklets. Did you guys get grandstand or GA? I wouldent mind getting down, for that, and K&G’s shindig.

Erin doesn’t have any yet, think we are going GA on Saturday only due to uni. Think boxy and Anth got grandstand

If i do it’ll only be GA, need to keep a leash on the budget atm. But dont want to be bumming around alone. lol.

I can smell the kaiser already raspberry

The 2015 Lotus looks really nice. They got rid of the weird double nose… but unfortunatly for the other drivers, they havent attached bumper bars to it.
However it is now sporting a Merc engine. No more Renault.
